To Linda Bird
Hi Linda,
I thought the programme was pretty good. They obviously spent a great
deal of money on the reconstructions. Kevin Randle came over very well,
I guess he usually does (when I was in Chicago recently I saw a tape
of him with Larry King on CNN where he wiped the floor with Phil Klass).
Unfortunately Unsolved Mysteries is shown here on Sky One which is
a satellite channel which only a small percentage of people can get.
However (for once!!) I remembered to tape it.
I am looking forward to the item UM are doing (?have done) on
the Bentwaters/Rendlesham Forest case. It will be 6 to 9 months
before we see it this side of the pond
Regards,
STEVE.

Steve: I have NTSC->PALS capabilities, and of course will be taping the show. Interested?

Yesterday, August 23rd, Roger Black got word that a crop circle had been
discovered in a cornfield in Iowa. He went to the site and is conducting an
investigation. Roger will have an exclusive report for ParaNet later today
or tomorrow. According to early information, the circle is very
interesting.

Hello, and thank you very much for your kind reply!
Yes, you're quite right about the April 1 television program
of the same name. My source tells me that Watkins originally set
out to write a book about how much truth there actually was in that
program which was meant for an April Fool's joke and that Watkins
determined that there was actually some 65% truth to it -- but then
he wrote the book and was bombarded with letters which led him to
believe that the percentage of truth was much, much higher. Those
letters are supposed to have disappeared when Watkins moved to New
Zealand and since then he's been "lying low." --At least this is
what the source tells me. Evidently the suggestion is being made
that this television "joke" was actually a sort of disinformation
campaign in which a bit of truth is thrown in with a lot of untruth
to "debunk" a story which, in fact, is not false. (Who knows if
that's really what happened?)
This source who told me about Alternative III also knows
someone very high up in the U.S. space biz and mentioned this tale
to that person only to be told it wasn't a fiction at all.
That is quite amazing, if true, but I cannot verify it as
the government person naturally wishes anyonymity and my source
won't part with a name.
Did you happen to see that BBC program? Your comment
sounded so authoritative, as if you were very familiar with it, and
that makes me ask if you have in fact seen it. If so, I'd be very
interested in hearing from you about the show -- your opinion of it
and also how it was received by local viewers in your area.
Thank you for the reply to my message. I will look forward
to hearing from you again.

Hello Bob,
Thank you very much for your reply about Alternative III and
what's happened to Leslie Watkins.
If you've read the book, could you tell me what your
impression of it was? And have you heard anything further from or
about Leslie Watkins after the book was published and he moved to
New Zealand? Perhaps he shows up in local papers at events talking
about the unusual/weird (like at UFO conferences, for instance) or
perhaps he's teaching. If you have any ideas or information about
him or the book, or any comments you'd care to share, I'd be very
interested in hearing from you again. And I'm particularly
interested in your impressions of the book.
Thank you, again, for the kind reply!

PS: Did you contact, who has spoken to or knows Watkins, tell you
whether he is, shall we say, "keeping a low profile" because of
problems from the book, or is he merely living a normal life and not
interested in pursuing this topic further? The implication of that
sudden, last-minute cancellation of the radio interview was that
someone had warned him off, but of course it could be that he merely
felt ill...though one would expect a re-scheduling at a later date,
which evidently didn't happen. I'd like to know anything more that
you or your source might have time and inclination to share and
appreciate your help very, very much.
Thanks, again! ==Peggy==

Hi Jim,
Do you have a copy of that Linda M. Howe film on Cattle Mutations?
If so, can I get a copy? I may have something to trade you for it.
Thanks,

Hi Clark,
Let's hope that we can really find out what this object is, and that
this does not turn out to be another Roswell with our grandchildren
looking for answers some 45 years later!

Hi Mike,
Due to extemely good luck, I managed to find a copy of the Aug.
Atlantic
Monthly, and immediately made a copy of the article. I haven't read it
yet (I still have company this week) but I hope to catch up with my
reading next week.
You were so nice to offer, though. Is there anything I can send you?
Kindest regards,
Linda

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your comments on Unsolved Mysteries.
I had to chortle LOUDLY when you mentioned that Kevin Randle "mopped
the floor with Phil Klass." I see you guys "down under" recognize a
dork when you see one (Even if you ARE upside down!). <:-)
