VALUE YOUR LIFE
VALUE YOUR LIFE RGAaPoet@aol.com
(For my sister, Virginia)
Value your life; despite its downward flow,
Internal springs, now stopped, can check the slide.
Regaled by nothing, as you come and go?
Good grief! why mourn? life's labour has not died.
Induce your inner springs to raise the tide....
No one, but you, can really change your life;
Infuse new joy and peace to guide your soul.
Although your ship of life bears bales of strife,
Abject submission brings but want and dole.
Urge your lost inner drives to take control!
Go forward as fresh winds expand your sails!
Untie the knots which keep your life at bay.
Sail on the rising tides ... and chuck those bales
That carry loads of pain, bound in decay....
Enter life's lanes with aim, and sail away!
