They Say You Hurt Yourself

They say you hurt yourself last night with that cold cold razor and that hot hot water but they never knew the hurt came before the nights of endless tears cries for help no one heard already drowning in a salty sea the days of sientsufferong misery behind a painted smile ignored by those few that even saw it They will never know that last night didn't hurt the first night without hurt the first in a lifetime the first of many to come no hurt ever again no more nights and no more days only quiet eternity where the hurt can't reach you. by,  WPHUNG (tylenol...)  Send any comments to WPHUNG@aol.com  © 1999 WPHUNG

The New Colossus

The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles.  From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. "Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she With silent lips.  "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

What Women Want

K, H, L, M ( what women want???) Kiss me like your wildest dreams ride upon my tongue Kiss me and you'll see my fantasies remain young Kiss me so that you can hear the song my heart has sung Kiss me if you dare to take the chance of being sprung Hold me once and I suppose you'll want to once again Hold me tightly as if the entire world is going to end Hold me closely, showing me my life you will defend Hold me in a gently grasp when your sweet caress begins Love me when the moon goes down until the sun arrives Love me like men have never loved in their previous lives Love me more and more each day and on your love I'll survive Love me but don't let this love turn on me like the knives Marry me tomorrow and let me be all that you need Marry me so you will heal my lonely heart that bleeds Marry me and all your needs I will forever feed Marry me in love and let it be our love that leads

True Love

True Love? All these things I feel for you, I sit and wonder, Are they true? I talk to you almost everyday And i feel sad when i'm away. I miss you so much, it hurts inside, When i think about how much i love you, It makes me wanna cry. I wake up every morning wishing you were here, So i can show you how much i love you and whisper sweet words in your ear. If you only knew how much i long for your love and your touch, Makes me wonder, How could i love someone so much? My heart beats faster when i hear you, I would give anything just to feel you. But for right now i can only wish and dream, That one day we will be together for all eternity. If you like my poem, e-mail me and tell me what you think (Nmb1l3itch@aol.com)  Thanx.

Foot Stool

Stepping to the edge_ A tear falling invertedly Hopelessly searching for a dream_ Once coveted, but then lost from the needy Unsheathing of innocence so endlessly; Echoing words of wisdom enthrall their thoughts A thought_ One so preciously guarded; But the price of losing your sanity with just a single word Love_ That word; so long dragged through the mud Pulling the innocent deep into it's hell My own soul was lost to me in recognition of that_ Unknown to my heart and mind; I am just a pawn in this game_ Kicked and maliciously treated to their own vanity Realize the mistakes_ Take it upon yourself to learn and heal Love thwarted me_ I am the foot stool

We Can Be Friend

We Can Be Friend Why should I fall in love, not now, not again Not again I cried, but there she was, I knew not her name I knew not why, on this night my heart would die I knew not the pain I would feel It was art night on the mall Her name was MS. Kimberly I knew not the sorrow I would have to endure And my love for MS. Kimberly Is it for love alone that I shall endure hell itself Or for the love of MS. Kimberly As she greets the visitors, I set at the door As she greets the visitors, I watch her work After all she is MS. Kimberly, my friend For the love of one woman, shall I go to hell I am just a man, MS. Kimberly is woman She shall know me not by my perfection But by my mistakes, that I makes she smiles An American in Asia, but she is my Delilha If she is Delilah, then who am I To be destroyed by a slander, brown hair woman, MS. Kimberly Who am I, this is what I cry, in her womb I shall lose my identify And upon her breast I shall forget my good name For I am man and she is De...

MY LAST DUCHESS

Robert Browning (1812-1889) MY LAST DUCHESS FERRARA That's my last Duchess painted on the wall, Looking as if she were alive; I call That piece a wonder, now: Fra Pandolf's hands Worked busily a day, and there she stands. Will't please you sit and look at her? I said 'Fra Pandolf' by design, for never read Strangers like you that pictured countenance, The depth and passion of its earnest glance, But to myself they turned (since none puts by The curtain I have drawn for you, but I) And seemed as they would ask me, if they durst, How such a glance came there; so, not the first Are you to turn and ask thus. Sir, 't was not Her husband's presence only, called that spot Of joy into the Duchess' cheek: perhaps Fra Pandolf chanced to say 'Her mantle laps Over my Lady's wrist too much,' or 'Paint Must never hope to reproduce the faint Half-flush that dies along her throat;' such stuff Was courtesy, she thought, and cause enough For calling u...

Was This What I Was Meant To Be

Was this what I was supposed to be am I the product of a plan is it all mapped out?  from the beginning I had no choice my life charted for me I can still hear you yelling do this and do that don't listen to your heart listen to what I say Where did your plan fail where did it all go wrong when did the voices all stop and I could finally hear myself Was this what I was supposed to be did I make all your dreams come true am I all you wanted but then what does it matter I could care less for all I have become I cannot care because you never taught me how.   by,  WPHUNG (Inspired at least in part by Jewel)  Send any comments to WPHUNG@aol.com  © 1999 WPHUNG

The Star-Spangled Banner

The Star-Spangled Banner I Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? II On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream: 'Tis the star-spangled banner!  Oh long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! III And where is that band who so vauntingly swore That the...

Missing Someone

Missing Someone In your life, best of friends Never thinking it will end Growing closer every day Never want to go away Telling secret dreams and wishes Hoping they will share them Fooling yourself, thinking there is more Than what is real They tell you that they love you What really do they feel Things change and you drift apart You wonder how to heal the heart Time heals all wounds, you hear You wait and wait for time to appear You miss someone, you miss your friend You will always love them, till the end ©1997  Melissa M. The Time of Your Life

It's the time of your life colors flashing in your face images dancing before your eyes the night roars in the background nothing can go ever go wrong and nothing will ever hurt again It's the time of your life the faces are unfamiliar the voices are foreign everything you know is gone replaced by this fresh new reality the world is open to you and nothing hurts nothing will ever make the tears come again It's the time of your life the glass underneath your feet sharp shards that do not cut the words have lost meaning their only purpose is to stifle the silence the pain has flown away a butterfly with dark wings It's the time of your life and nothing will ever hurt again. by, WPHUNG (Inspired by Death: the Time of Your Life) Send me any comments at WPHUNG@aol.com © 1998 Smile in the Dark Productions

VALUE YOUR LIFE

VALUE YOUR LIFE RGAaPoet@aol.com    (For my sister, Virginia) Value your life; despite its downward flow, Internal springs, now stopped, can check the slide. Regaled by nothing, as you come and go? Good grief! why mourn? life's labour has not died. Induce your inner springs to raise the tide.... No one, but you, can really change your life; Infuse new joy and peace to guide your soul. Although your ship of life bears bales of strife, Abject submission brings but want and dole. Urge your lost inner drives to take control! Go forward as fresh winds expand your sails! Untie the knots which keep your life at bay. Sail on the rising tides ... and chuck those bales That carry loads of pain, bound in decay.... Enter life's lanes with aim, and sail away!           03/07/1999 Copyright (c) 1999 by Ronald G. MORNING SONG

MORNING SONG   RGAaPoet@aol.com When I awake, and gems of dew Lie holy on my window-sill, They bring to mind sweet thoughts of you, Waking from dreams behind the hill.... O Angel! -- were you pledged to stay Beyond reach of my longing arms, My soul would cry and sigh your way, To hymn praise to your sacred charms. Behind the hill, I hear your voice, Entrancing in the morning air -- And suddenly the clouds rejoice! And scatter sunshine everywhere! Copyright  1959, 1980, 1995 by Ronald G. Auguste
