THE MOONBASE


 THE MOONBASE.   Written by Kit Pedler.   4 episodes.
                 11th February - 4th March 1967.
               
 COMPANIONS:- Ben, Polly and Jamie.

   The scene is Earth's moon in the year 2070. All of the Earth's weather
 is controlled by a device called the Gravitron. The Doctor arrives to
 discover that a strange disease has broken out. Strange disappearances
 take place and the Gravitron begins to behave strangely; the Cybermen are
 responsible.
   They plan to use the kidnapped men to take control of the Gravitron and
 destroy the Earth. The Doctor realises that the Cybermen are affected by
 gravitational shifts and that is why they need the humans to operate the
 Gravitron. As the Cyber army approach the moonbase for their final assault
 and the Cyber ships gather, the Doctor regains control of the Gravitron and
 directs it at the moon's surface, shooting the Cybermen and their ships
 deep into space.
