                                  Abstract

                                  --------

This report results from an  extensive  survey of the  literature,

both general and technical,  searching for further data relating to the

controversial  Dean System Space Drive.  All  known sources for further

Dean Drive data are listed,  whether Pro or Con, and have been arranged

into chronological order - as an aid to researchers.

F.Y.I.,  Space Drive  is the term used to denote a  mechanism,  or

principle  by  which a  spaceship  can be propelled  -  a device  not a

rocket,  that  would not  have to carry  reaction mass  to throw  away.

The  Dean System Space Drive, nicknamed the  Dean Drive,  was the first

of  these  devices to be  highly publicized.  Understanding  it will be

aided  by a  thorough  familiarity  with  the   Dean Space Drive Patent

(US 2,886,976),  which  claims  to  show  how to harness  a  mechanical

    oscillator  for propulsion purposes.

This report  is  intended solely  as  a  ready reference for those

researchers or  would-be inventors that are interested in understanding

    the Dean System Space Drive.

This  version of the  report is placed in the   public domain, and

you are encouraged to  pass it along  to others.  Upload it to all your

favorite  bulletin boards,  print copies for friends, etc.  We ask only

that it be distributed in this original unmodified form.
