My favorite place is Hayela.  Almost every time I visit my grandparents I go to Hayela.  In case you're wondering, Hayela is five big, round bales of hay.  That's how it got it's name.  Hayela is in a field behind my grandparent's house.  Last year when my brother and I found it we wanted to protect it.  We did this because we didn't want a farmer to take them.  So, we make a fence around it.  Since then Hayela still stands.  But every time I'm at my grandparents' I still go back there just to check.  It's a special place to me because it's so quiet and peaceful. It's a good place to stay if you're mad at your brother.  When I go there by myself I mainly just like to lay on the bales and let the sun shine on my face  and rest or I listen to music on my radio.  This is my special place that I named Hayela.

My favorite place is at my grandparents' farm.  It is near the pond on some rocks shaped like a chair.  Sometimes, when I want to be alone I go back there and let the wind blow in my face.  I like to watch the sun set from that spot too.  Sometimes I'll bring a book to read or paper to draw on.  If I'm sad about something I go  this spot and try to think of happy things.  This is my favorite place because it makes me feel happy.  I can be by myself or cast away unhappy feelings.  I really like this spot.  It will be my favorite spot for many years.

My New Brother Erik Bauerlein

On October 24, 1994, I got a new brother.  His name is Jared Scott Bauerlein.  His middle name is Scott after my cousin who died in a car accident less than a month ago.  It should be interesting to see how he develops and grows.  So far all he does is eat, sleep, burp, cry and fill his diapers!  All I've done is burp him a couple of times.  It's fun just watching him and seeing his expressions change.  He can't really smile, but you can tell when he's happy, sad or tired.  I love it when he yawns.  He stretches his arms and shows his tongue.  It's so tiny!  Since he got home he's gained 13 ounces and two inches.  He is now 19 inches and 6 pounds and 1 ounce.  He was born with a lot of hair, with just a little of his skin showing between hairs.

Living On A Farm Caty Cooper

I live on a farm.  The animals we raise are cows, chickens, pigs and bunnies. Sometimes I like to go inside the barn and watch the cows and pigs run.  Every time I go in the barn I see something new.  Sometimes when I go in the barn I even see baby pigs or calves.  It's really exciting to live on a farm because sometimes the cows and pigs get loose.  I like watching my dad go chase the cows and pigs back in the barn.  The best thing is that I get to help.

In school we have a new CD Rom in our library.  It is very useful for getting information on different reports we do in school.  I have been helping the people in my class to learn about how to use the CD Rom.  It's not hard to do for you only use the mouse not the keyboard.  It makes doing projects and reports easier.

Someone that is special to me is my best friend's little brother, Timothy.  He just recently turned two.  I can still remember the day he was born.  I had called to see if Emily, his older sister could play.  Her grandmother said that Emily was at the hospital because her mother just had a baby boy.  I was so happy.  The day they brought him home I went to their house.  It was so neat to see such a tiny baby.  I asked what his name was and how much he weighed.  His mom said that his name was Timothy and he weighed 8 lbs and 3 oz.  Last year he started calling me "Tee-Tee".  I went every day to visit him.  I went away for about two weeks and didn't see him again for a long time.  When I saw him again, he didn't recognize me.  After about a week he started calling me "Tee-Tee" again.  That day he cried when I left.  I went to his sister's volleyball game the other day and he insisted that I sit next to him.  He sat on my lap while we both watched his sister's volleyball game.

My basketball court is a very special place to me.  When I'm bored I can go out and work on my jumper, or play a little one-on-one with my sister, my mom or my dad.  Also, when I'm mad or stressed out, I just practice some monster, reverse, 360¡, aly-oops, windmill or tomahawk dunks on my sister's hoop.  She is four years younger than me, so she needs a much lower hoop.  Even though  I like soccer and football, too,  I think basketball is the best sport.  Basically, when I play on my basketball court, all the worries, troubles and problems of the world seem to disappear.   There are no deadlines, rules or grades.  To sum it up in one word: carefree.  That is why my basketball court is so special to me.
