1 c. brown sugar

1 c. white sugar

1 c. shortening

2 t. anise flavoring

1 c. honey


Decorator's Frosting:


3 unbeaten egg whites

1 lb. sifted powdered sugar

1/2 t. cream of tartar


1 c. warm coffee

1 t. baking soda

2 t. baking powder

7 c. flour (about)Mix in order given.  Let stand overnight.  Roll, cut and

bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.  Makes about 14 to 15 large

hearts.  To make frosting, beat with electric mixer for about 10

minutes.
