TNC2 with the "High Speed Mod"

 TNC2.4

If you operate a TNC2 with the "High Speed Mod", you may have

noticed  that  it generates enough noise at times to  reduce  the

sensitivity of your receiver noticeably.  There is a way...

Install  small  ferrite beads inside the RS232 plug (the  one

that fits into the TNC) and inside the DIN plug also.   Install a

bead  on each wire.   The sort of beads don't seem to matter.   I

installed them on 2 TNC's here for the BBS, and I really put what

I could find in my junk box:  different sizes, different types...

it works real quiet now.
