INTELLIPACK 3 features three hit games originally released in the early 1980s for Mattel Electronics' Intellivision video game system.

B-17 BOMBER, designed by John Sohl, William Fisher and Stephen Roney, is one of the original three games released by Mattel Electronics for the INTELLIVOICE module. Intellivoice, which integrated synthesized voices into gameplay, was hailed as a breakthrough when it was introduced in 1982. Still, Mattel only released a total of five games for the module. B-17 BOMBER is generally regarded as the best.

BEAUTY & THE BEAST, designed by Wendell Brown, was released in 1982 by Imagic Inc. Imagic was founded by former Mattel and Atari designers who went into competition with their old employers. In BEAUTY & THE BEAST you control a brave little man climbing and jumping his way up a building to rescue a damsel from a big brute. Any similarities to a game featuring a giant monkey is purely intentional.

SHARK! SHARK!, designed by Ji Wen Tsao, was released by Mattel Electronics in 1982. The game turned out to be a sleeper hit: while Mattel considered it a  children's game and didn't promote it, critics loved it. One video game magazine awarded it "Best Intellivision Release of 1982."

As a bonus, we've included the sword and sorcery game MINOTAUR. MINOTAUR was designed in 1982 by Tom Loughry for Mattel Electronics, but released in 1983 under a different title. Because of trademark restrictions, we can't include it with its more familiar name. But no matter what you call it, this point-of-view adventure game is one of Intellivision's best!

To start, double-click the Intellipack3 file. Click the File menu then Open Cartridge. Select the desired game. You can change window size and keyboard mappings and turn the sound off under the Options menu. (This free download does not save games or keyboard configurations.)

Press ESC to RESET a game; F11 to pause. In full-screen mode, use pause (F11) to display the menu bar.

Games can be played from your PC keyboard or with game controllers. Configure controller keys under the Options menu.

The instructions for the games are included in four separate document files that can be opened to read or print.

(Note: Intellipack 3 requires DirectX to be installed on your PC. You can download the latest version of DirectX from the microsoft.com web site.)

INTELLIPACK 3 features true emulation of the gameplay: the original code is running on a software version of the General Instruments 1610 processor, the heart of the Intellivision system. All the features of the original game are duplicated exactly...even the bugs!

Enjoy!

ABOUT INTELLIVISION PRODUCTIONS INC.
The original Mattel Electronics Intellivision developers were called the Blue Sky Rangers. After Mattel closed its electronics division in1984, many of the Blue Sky Rangers continued creating new games for INTV Corp., which kept the Intellivision alive through 1990.

In June 1995, the Blue Sky Rangers went online with a web site devoted to Intellivision.  The site features production histories, Easter eggs, trivia, bugs, credits and artwork for all of the classic games.

But the most frequently asked question the Blue Sky Rangers received was, "When can we play these games again on our PC or Mac?"

As a result, Intellivision Productions Inc. was formed. Headed by Blue Sky Rangers, the company acquired the rights to the Intellivision system and games so they could be released on today's computers.

INTELLIPACK 1, INTELLIPACK 2 and INTELLIPACK 3 for Windows and Mac are available for FREE DOWNLOADING on the Intellivision web site at www.intellivisionlives.com.

INTELLIVISION LIVES! and INTELLIVISION ROCKS Windows/Mac CD-ROM collections are also available on the web site. Each CD-ROM features dozens of the original games, extensive development histories, plus video interviews with the designers.
