 LIGHTNING FORCE

Weapon Select:

During the game, press START to pause the game, and press 

the following buttons:

Up, Right, Button A, Down, Right, Button A, Button C, 

Left, Up, Button B, Up.  If you do the code correctly, 

you will have all the items powered up

Miscellaneous Tips:

The best way to go through the first four rounds is:

1st attack, Ruin

2nd attack, Air Raid

3rd attack, Daser

4th attack, Strite

Ruin:

Watch out for the chain of enemies that form loops around 

your ship.

Mid-boss:

Fly between the bullets while continuously shooting the 

enemy.  Use the Snake weapon if you have it.

Boss:

Start off by shooting the cannons off, then shoot the 

center while avoiding the bullets.

Air Raid:

Avoid the missiles the ships are dropping by shooting 

them as you fly by.  When you reach the area where the 

cross hairs follow your ship, keep moving so the bullets 

won't hit you.  Your ship will fit through the tight 

spots in the ships, so don't give up if it looks like 

your ship won't fit.

When you get to the part where the big ships start flying 

by you, look for power ups (they are flying by just as 

fast as the ships, so it might take a couple of times).

Boss:

Avoid the purple plasma shots, then fly to the far right 

side of the screen.  Use your Backshot until you destroy 

the top piece of the craft.  Then, fly around and 

continuously fire at it while flying between the bullets 

it is shooting.

Daser:

Watch out for the tanks that drop from the sky.  The 

hardest part of this level is avoiding being hit by the 

laser shooting planes. 

Mid-boss:

Shoot it in the body section, while avoiding it's 

whipping tale and the discs it shoots.

Boss:

Stay towards the left.  Avoid the missiles and the 

fireballs.  When the spheres are defeated, one sphere 

will chase you around the screen.  If you have a weapon 

that will shoot from above, stay above the enemy, letting 

him follow you up the screen while hitting him.

Strite:

There are many enemies that will come from the left side 

of the screen.  Stay in the middle for best position.

Avoid the giant Ice Snake by flying under it.  After it, 

stay towards the bottom of the screen, using your 

backshot to take out the train of enemies.  When you get 

down to the last part of the train, it will fly up and 

turn into the mid-boss.

Mid-boss:

Use your backshot.  When it shoots out a red beam, wait 

for it to hit you (it does no damage), then immediately 

start moving up or down and it will fire a row of 

missiles at you.  Continue to hit it with the backshot 

weapon.

After the mid-boss, you will go underwater.  When 

underwater, stay towards the top of the screen to avoid 

the giant ship.  Once out of the water, stay under the 

ship and avoid the tail while shooting the fireballs 

chasing you.  Eventually, the tail will drop and the boss 

will appear.

Boss:

Fire at the orb that is at the top of the tail.  When the 

enemy drops down, he will fire a red heat seeking 

fireball at you.  Continuously move to avoid it.  Keep 

shooting at the top of the tail to defeat the creature.

Stage 5:

Start off by shooting the engines of the giant spaceship.  

Then, a giant robot will appear.  Several ships will also 

appear.  Ignore the ships, they will help you!  Keep 

shooting the robot while avoiding the laser shots it 

shoots.

Boss:

Avoid the lasers while hitting it until it flies away.

Stage 6:

Stay along the top to get the most power ups.  

Mid-boss

To defeat the ship surrounded by ice blocks, hit the ship 

while avoiding the ice blocks.

Boss:

Shoot off it's three points.  Avoid the fireballs it 

shoots out.

Stage 7:

Work your way through the rocks.  Make sure to shoot 

through the bubbles.  It is easiest to have your speed on 

maximum.

Boss:

First, shoot it on the top of it's back.  Then, stay in 

the upper left while you shoot the face area.

Stage 8:

There are two different ways to get through this stage.  

You can either go up, which is harder, or low, which is 

easier.

Mid-Boss 1:

Avoid it as it bounces around.  When it opens up, shoot 

the center until it explodes.

Mid-Boss 2:

Shoot the tubes while avoiding the lasers the robots 

shoot at you.

Mid-Boss 3:

If you took the high road, there will be two robots here.  

On the low road, there will only be one.

To defeat the robot with the two orbs that has the 

spinning lightning balls, stay in the lower left corner 

of the screen while continuously shooting.

To defeat the robot with the two orbs that shoots out the 

white laser beam, stay at the left side of the screen 

while continuously shooting.

Mid-Boss 4:

Shoot the head segment when it is shooting at you.  When 

it swings it's tail, it will try and corner you!

Boss:

First, shoot the black segment of the tentacles until 

they disappear.  Then, concentrate your fire power on the 

thing in the middle.  Watch out for the little flies 

flying around.  When you shoot them, they will fall to 

the ground and explode straight up.  Once you defeat the 

tentacles, an enemy will pop out of the center and land 

on the ground.  It will release flies from it's body (the 

kind that drop and explode upwards).  Hit it and the 

flies until a Bee comes and picks up the enemy.  Shoot 

the Bee while avoiding the blue columns of fire.  Once 

you defeat the Bee, get on the right side of the screen.

Stage 9:

Watch out for the lasers and the blue whipping tails!

Mid-Boss:

Keep shooting the center of the body until it is 

defeated.

After the boss, when the red thing comes from the left 

hand side of the screen, move all the way right to not 

get crushed.  Eventually, you will go through a maze.  

After the maze, keep moving to avoid the bombs.

Boss:

Start by shooting the back of the ship until all the 

laser cannons are gone.  Then, go to the front of the 

ship and continuously shoot the ball in the middle of the 

crab.

Stage 10:

Mid-Boss:

Avoid the robot and shoot the engine at the back of the 

screen.  When the robot drops, head to the upper or lower 

part of the screen to avoid the fireball.

Last Boss:

Start by shooting the sides off.  Then, when it shoots 

out the blue balls, shoot them to defeat the last boss.
