              22nd May - 26th June 1965.

The Executioners, The Death of Time, Flight Through Eternity,

Journey Into Terror, The Death of Dr Who, The Planet of Decision.

COMPANIONS:- Ian, Barbara, Vicki and introducing Steven Taylor.

The Doctor is using his Time/Space Visualiser, a device which allows

him to see any event in history. He sees that the Daleks are about to

begin persuing him in their own time machine.

The persuit takes us to the planet Aridius, the Empire State Building,

the Marie Celeste, a theme park containing androids of Dracula and the

Frankenstein monster and finally the planet Mechanus.

It is here that the travellers meet the Mechanoids and are taken

prisoner after the Doctor defeats a robot double of himself. They meet

Steven Taylor who is also a prisoner of the Mechanoids. The Daleks arrive

and battle with the Mechanoids whilst the travellers escape. The two

fighting factions destroy each other but the Dalek timeship survives. Ian

and Barbara beg the Doctor to show them how to operate it as it works

perfectly, unlike the TARDIS, but he refuses angrily at first. Eventually

he relents and choked with emotion he says goodbye.

The Mechanoids were to be the next big thing after the Daleks but they

never took off and didn't appear in Dr Who again.

THE CHASE is available in a BBC Video 30th Anniversary presentation tin

with a Sylvester McCoy story, REMEMBRANCE OF THE DALEKS. It is due to be

 released seperately in 1995.
