The mere thought of UFO's, to most, brings instant thoughts of zany
creatures with green skin and a space suit. But on the real side, this is
one of the larger controversial topics today. Life on other planets and other
extraterrestial beings are incorporated with this topic. Many people have their
own thoughts on this subject, and many view points will be shown including the
skeptic's and believer's.
First of all, UFO's do "exist." UFO's literally mean Unidentified
Flying Objects. If I were to throw a paper plate up high in the air and others
were to see it, finding it with no clue as to what it was, then it is surely
considered a UFO. I am not trying to prove the existence of UFO's, but the
existence of other extraterrestrial beings that people think of as controlling
them.
Many do not believe that they exist, and many do. I particularly am
on the side of believing it. I cannot show you pictures of aliens and their
homes, but I can show you a tremendous amount of proof which can prove their
existence. One person once said, "Absence of evidence is absence of evidence
of proof." My goal of this report is to equally show both sides of this very
controversial topic.
To show that I am not alone, many others believe in them, too. A
survey was taken on a recent TV prime time show that broadcasted showed that
43% of the callers had believed in other life existing out in the universe,
while another 42% did not. The remaining 15% were not sure of their existence.
The majority of the believers were men and college graduates [1]. The students
in our very science class also had varied opinions, but about 52% did believe
in the extraterrestrials. While 31% did not believe in them, the remaining 17%
were unsure.
One of the many arguments that skeptics constantly bring up is if the
government does know they exist, why wouldn't it be exposed to the public?
The answer itself is very simple. A true example of just what would happen
did occur on October 30, 1938. Orson Welles and the Mercury theatre troupe had
broadcasted H.G. Well's "The War of the Worlds" on CBS radio. This
story had told of an invasion of Earth by Martians. As fiction as it was at
the time, the public's response was not. Not only had people of the Eastern
seaboard fled into the streets in terrible fright of the Martian's landing
in Trenton, New Jersy, but there were, in fact, cases of suicides. But to
show how small scale this was, keep in mind this was just on the radio, and
only in one section of the United States. In present day society, if the
government were to expose the existence of aliens and outer beings, the chaos
in this case would be exponential to the broadcasting of the fiction story.
Suppose the president were to explain their very existence, a massive uproar
that would be unbelievable would occur. Such chaos would probably end up
destroying this planet. Religious groups would be appalled and the public
would find this one "hard to swallow."
The government is, in fact, hiding a lot of information about
something important. Numerous UFO crashes occurred in which the evidence was
clearly removed by the U.S. Air Force. One crash, on the night of July 2,
1947, a bright light was seen at the desert near Roswell, New Mexico. A man by
the name of W.W. "Mac" Brazel found tin-foil like substances, metallic rods,
and such on his ranch. A local sheriff was contacted and the rest of the story
explains how the Roswell Army Air Field got a hold of them. All debris was
confiscated and brought to a nearby base. Reynold's Wrap you say? This
substance could neither be burnt with a blowtorch or become dented with a
16-pound sledgehammer. About 100 miles away, Grady L. Barnett came upon
another crash site at the near same time. 4 bodies were found, and they were
not human like. Having frail limbs, big slanted eyes, and disproportionately
large heads, these did not even look close to the locals. Of course, that too
was taken out and covered with an explanation that it was just a mere weather
balloon. In 1948, the U.S. Air Force set up the project Project Sign in order
to study the UFO's in more detail.
So maybe the government won't expose their existence, but of course,
starting with the basics, who said they exist? Many ask, "Well, who had
started this idea that they exist?" Many can point out the case that really
started it going. It all started in the summer of 1947, and Kenneth Arnold, a
trained pilot, reported nine silvery objects in the sky. Circular in shape,
they were flying at over 1,200 m.p.h. over the Cascade Range, Washington. This
seemed to have opened the doors to more and more cases. People were now
starting to believe in strange spaceships.
That had started the wave of reports, but where did the first report
come from? As far back as 15th century B.C. in Egypt, the pharaoh Thutmose III
saw flying discs and silent, foul-smelling circles of fire. Many ancient
reports, even in 747 A.D., show strange objects in the sky. In China, huge,
flame-breathing dragons were reported, and even men in airships. As farfetched
as they sound, one of our most reliable sources, the Bible, even has exquisite
passages that describe things which are truly amazing. For example, in 2 Kings
2:9-12, it reads:
"....Eli'jah said to Eli'sha, 'Ask what I shall do for you, before I
am taken from you.' And Eli'sha said, 'I pray you, let me inherit a
double share of your spirit.'...And as they still went on and
talked, behold a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated the
two of them. And Eli'jah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And
Eli'jah saw it and cried, 'My father, my father!'...And he saw him
no more."
Another passage in Zechariah 5:1-2 shows what one would described a
cylindical UFO as. It reads: "And he said to me, 'What do you see?' I
answered, 'I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits and its breadth
is ten cubits."
Other passages, such as Mathew 2:9-10, Ezekiel 1:4-7, Exodus 14:19-20;
24-25, and Genesis 6:1-4, show of other UFO related text.
Not only are UFO's found in biblical scriptures, but past literature
of ancient times, too, show signs of abnormal objects in the sky. This
example will demonstrate what many past writers have seen:
'In 66 B.C. in the consulship of Gnaeus Octavius amd Gaius Scribonius
a spark was seen to fall from a star and increase in size as it
approached the earth, and after becoming as large as the moon it
diffused a sort of cloudy daylight, and then returning to the sky
changed into a torch; this is the only record of it occurring. It was
seen by the proconsul, Silenius, and his suite.'

What could these people possibly be describing? Could it be scientific
weather occurrences that could neither be explained nor understood at the
time? Or could it be some of the earliest recordings of UFO activity as we
know it? UFO reports have only become more numerous throughout the ages, and
even present day, we hear many stories of them. One that was just recently
made into a motion picture was the story of Travis Walton and his abduction
by aliens. More details on this and abductions will be discussed later, but
the movie "Fire in the Sky" did show what many claim to be outer beings taking
humans for examination purposes.
How do people classify such UFO occurrences? UFO reports have been
classified according to the conditions. The first is the class of Nocturnal
Light. It is one or several lights seen at night. The viewer cannot tell how
far it is away. The second class is called Daylight Disc. It seems to be a
material object. It is seen in the day, but the person cannot tell how far
away it is. The third class is Radar-Visual. Blips on a radar screen are seen
simultaneously with the viewing of other watchers.
Encounters, on the other hand, allow the viewer to see the UFO more
closely. If the UFO is within 500 feet of the observer, it is considered a
close encounter. There are three separate classes for this type of viewing.
The first type, Close Encounters of the First Kind is when the viewer is
close enough to see certain details of the UFO, such as its color or its
placement of doors or hatches. The UFO may be in the sky or on the ground.
The second type, Close Encounters of the Second Kind is experienced when
the UFO has landed or is very close to the ground. The observer may or may
not have seen the object land. The soil may be indented, or other indications
may be seen that show the UFO was there. Often electrical and communications
interference is reported. In some cases, animals are frightened by the foreign
object. The third type, Close Encounters of the Third Kind is when the person
seems to observe what looks like an occupant of the UFO. The occupant may be
living or a robot. Thus, as the classes increase in value, the clarity of
the UFO increases.
The only way one can become a believer is if the person sees proof
that cannot be explained in any other way. One of the strongest ways to prove
that they exist is through abductions that occur. Alien abductions are what
books on extraterrestrials focus on today. From a 2 minute alien examination
to a few weeks of missing time, the abductee is afterwards usually not aware
of what happened to the time in which he was abducted. Proof usually comes
from abduction scars, and strange articles being given to the abductees. In
one case, a pancake-like patty was given to a farmer. In another case, a
strange book with foreign symbols was given to the encountered person. Most of
the time, sufficient proof is usually missing or claims to be stolen. One of
the most unusual cases include a ship landing and taking off, but part of the
ship's metal was found on the ground. It was taken to be examined, but within
a few days, it eventually "evaporated" itself. Other proof, such as land
markings of a craft or broken branches are more frequent. Even circular marks
or lack of growth in plants on alien landing spots occur. Tests on some of the
soil that was claimed to have been landed on by a craft of that sort had very
strange properties. Unlike the soil around it, it neither absorbed water nor
had the ability to support plant life on it. Possesing hard core proof like
this may leave one in danger of being visted by three "black men." Often those
that have taken pictures of UFO's are visited by these strangers. They are not
described as being very human like, and are often hostile to the person.
Threats are given and they leave off in a black limousine. Even stories of
three women in white are told. Are these beings here on earth attempting to
protect their fellow beings out there from being exposed? Like most alien
information, their existence is not even proven yet.
Of the types of proof, abductions are very frequent and harder to
disprove since it has an effect on the person. Usually after "missing time,"
the abductee has nightmares about aliens. Also, they usually find scars on
them that they never noticed before. Most of the time, they go to a hypnotist
to be examined and are usually hypnotized to bring out of them what happened
during all of the time they were missing. Skeptics say that hypnosis merely
brings out one's imagination and one's daily thoughts. Though the reliability
of hypnosis is questionable, it is very doubtful that so many abductees are
having the same "imagination" by coincidence.
Abductions tend to occur mainly late at night and in secluded areas,
but anytime is possible. One of the most popular cases known is the Betty and
Barney Hill case. THe couple were out driving in the mountains of New
Hampshire when they were suddenly frightened by a UFO. Afraid of the object,
they turned back away and drove off. But according to hypnotic regression,
they had gone under alot more. Their missing two and a half hours were told
of time spent with diminutive beings that were examining them. Skin samples
and a needle insertion into Betty Hill's navel occurred in the time. This is
only one of the many cases of abductions that occurred.
There are many things in common with many cases of abductions. Many
cases include needles and such being inserted. Usually gamete samples are
taken out of the patient and an eye scanner is taken over their bodies.
Many descrice a "giant eye" scanning their body. Scary as it sounds, many
cases describe a needle being inserted, with usually a small round metalic
ball at the end. When the needle is inserted, that is bad enough, but
ones who have been abducted frequently describe the inserted ball as not
coming out when the needle is withdrawn. Many theories try to explain what is
happening. Some say that the metal object is used to control the human. One
source is a speech (which will be described into further detail later) by a
man who says that through military and government information and connections,
he claimed that the metal objects are inserted in the head to control the
person, and the government is already supposedly planning concentration camps
that are used to withhold the controlled people. The fear is that they would
plant a type of bomb in a major city under control of the aliens and would
ultimately destroy the earth. Cases of this metal ball are described by the
people as being inserted at the head, normally at the nose, ears, and in the
worst cases, in the eye. The next day, usually a pain is experienced in the
head. In one case after an abduction, a man felt as if his nose had cracked
as he heard a sharp snap near his nose. He described it as if it were a crunch
behind the bridge of his nose. Shortly after, a small nose bleed occurred.
Though it may not control the human, others say it is a tracking device. One
rare case had a mysterious object found in a woman's amniotic fluid during a
prenatal chromosome test. Though the object's material make up was unknown,
it did have small dots on it that formed in a regular grid pattern. It was
only 10 microns in diamter. Though it was considerably smaller than what
others describe as being about one-tenth of an inch in diameter, it was still
a foreign object. Abductees include young and old people, but pregnant people
are also involved.
One of the most famous stories of an alien abduction is the Travis
Walton story, which was made into the recent movie, 'Fire in the Sky.'
Travis was driving with his buddies when he saw an object floating down
in a forrested area. He decided to stop and check out the object. He
ran to the ship, when a bright light came out over him. His friends, terribly
frightened, drove off, and they will never see him again for about a week.
What occurred during that past week to Travis was about aliens and tests they
ran on him. At one point, he tried to defend himself against the stange
aliens. After coming back, Travis and the others dared to have their
experience debunked and took any lie detector test. Though Travis failed the
first lie detector test, it was said that he was still in the state of shock
of what had happened in the past week, and he was still shaky. He ran other
tests, and he passed all others so far, as well did his friends. Of course,
what is controversy without an opposition? UFO skeptic Philip J. Klass has
found flaws in the story that makes him believe the story was a hoax.Because
of these skeptics, it is still questionable today if such occurrences really
did happen to Travis.
If abductions do occur, it is still debatable as to whether the
routine is bad. Some groups say it is enjoyable and say would be pleasant to
be abducted, but that does no seem to be the case most of the time. If so, why
do abductees have nightmares about them? Some scientists say that they are
hallucinating or in a period of their sleeping cycle when things seem very
real to the person experiencing the dream. But many abductees have found other
ways to prove that what had happened really happened. One such case, which was
shown on a prime time television show, had a lady that had experienced
abductions frequently and decided to prove to herself and others that
something indeed was going on. One night she took a tape recorder and left it
on overnight. After waking up the next morning feeling as if something had
happened overnight, she remembered her tape recorder and played back what went
on that night. At some point in the recording, she hears 3 sounds. The first
two are just garbles, but the third, after taking it to a sound specialist,
was found out to be something that could be related to English. The third
sound, through backround sound elimination and such, was what appeared to be
a robotic like voice saying, "Don't wake up."
Most abduction cases occur with the abductee not remembering what
happened. How are their "memories of last night" rejuvinated? Many go under
hypnosis, or hypnotic regression. Hypnosis, the term, was coined in the 1840's
by James Braid, a Scottish surgeon. Hypnosis roots from the Greek word hypnos,
or sleep. The term refers to a sleeplike state that permits a wide range of
behavorial responses to stimulation. The hypnotized person tends to only
follow the commands of the hypnotizer. In abduction cases, occurrences of the
past night are recalled. Though it seems a probable way to find what happened
before, it is now believed to be a unreliable source. Dr. Martin T. Orne, a
leading authority on hypnosis and the director of experimental psychiatry at
the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital discourages the use of hypnosis for
memory recall. Usually the subject under hypnosis regresses back to childhood,
when he or she was first abducted. Orne comments "'individuals will
spontaneously elaborate on a myriad of details which apparently could only be
brought forth by someone actually observing the events as they transpired.'"

On the other hand, a psychologist, Robert Baker, states, "Hypnosis,
itself, is nothing except turning on the individual's imagination. It's almost
impossible to tell fact from fiction."[4] Dr. Baker, who has had 26 years of
experience with the alien abduction topic, says what people experience is
called sleeping paralysis. He claims that is what many cases show occurring.
The person's mind is awake, but the body is not. Sleeping paralysis, the
inability to fully wake up, is supposedly what causes the person to feel as
if they are paralyzed, as in many cases of abductions. Hypnosis is proven
unreliable in one of Orne's experiments. First, the hypnotist verifies that
that the subject slept at about midnight and woke up at about 8 A.M. After
inducing deep hypnosis of that night, the hypnotist asks if two loud noises
occurred (they did not occur). The subject will usually say that he or she
was awakened by the noises, and when asked to look at the clock, will give
an exact time, such as 3:00 A.M.
Though it sounds strange, it seems that many UFO cases involve what
many call the "grays," and some cases seem to agree that they are robotic,
such as the previous case showed. Another case describes a robotic type of
alien. One night, a hunter traveled with some others to go hunting late at
night. They eventually got separated, and this one hunter was by himself,
lost. Later, he sees a great flash on the horizon and after a while, starts
to hear the footsteps of some other beings. When he sees that they are not
normal people, he gets frightened. With nowhere to run or hide, he wisely
tries climbing up a tree to get out of their range. They soon identify him as
being on top of the tree, on a limb, and they attempt to climb up the tree.
Their inability to climb up the tree led them to call over another one of
their kind, but a bit different. A robotic type alien being had been called
over, and after a bit of mumbling amongst each other, the robotic type alien
with yellow "lighted" eyes opened its mouth and out came what appeared to be
smoke. Meanwhile, the hunter took some material and lighted it, and then he
tossed it below. The aliens were afraid of the small fires it created. The
man ended up throwing almost everything he had down at them, wih no effect.
Then he remembered he had a bow and arrows, so he aimed at the one with the
lighted eyes. When he hit the alien, sparks flew out. When the smoke rose and
finally reached the hunter, it made him feel woozy and it almost made him pass
out. He decided to tie his waist to the tree so that if he were to pass out,
he would not fall down and injure himself. Later he found himself still tied
to the tree the next morning, unharmed. When he found his companions, he asked
if they had seen a light over the horizon. They replied with a definite yes.
This shows what the average alien would look like in most of the cases
reported.
The "grays" are described as having large, Asian-like eyes at sharp
angles. That seems to be their prominent feature that many abductees claim as
"being lost in them" and "deep looking." Some guess that the huge eyes were
developed that way because possibly on their home planet, they may have
predators to watch out for, so the 180 degree vision is needed. The eyes are
usually black, and that could possibly be because they need protection from
the type of lighting at their home planet. The "grays" are also described as
having heads "too big for their bodies,", mostly 4 to 5 feet tall (relatively
short) and have no apparent ears, almost nothing of a nose, and a small line
for a mouth (what one described as a scary "Mona Lisa-like smile"). A large
percent of abduction or alien interaction cases describe the "grays" as
communicating to them with telepathic messages, often in English with subtle
phrases such as "calm down" and "feed the baby." But, when talking amongst
each other, many claim they mumble or speak in a dialect that is not
understandable.
In a few cases, the person may even be healed of a sickness. One had a
severed artery that healed with no further treatment after a blast of white
light from a UFO. Though not an abduction, the effects of outer beings show
through. Other abductions leave the patient feeling "better" and "more
optimistic towards life."
In UFO most sightings, effects on humans almost always occur.
Radiation as well as burns occur a lot, and the viewers are not usually happy
about the occurrence. Sickness, nausea, and paralysis are found in most cases,
that is, in close encounters. These effects serve as strong evidence that
something out there is going on. Many skeptics say the UFO's could possibly be
special crafts that another country or even our own government is testing out.
Like the Stealth Bomber, that was pursued by the U.S. Air Force for several
decades before its existence was acknowledged, could our government be hiding
another type of aircraft that could do such fantastic things like make 90
degree turns, do loop de loops, and go from 1200 MPH to about 20 in no time?
If so, this would certainly be a great turn in history in aviation technology,
but on the other hand, what if it is not? Statistics show that roughly 40% of
UFO sightings are aircraft, 35% stars and planets, 10% meteors, and 10% others
(such as hoaxes, flares, etc.). So the other 5% is unknown. 5% is a lot of
cases, and if they are unidentified, what are they?[5]
The strongest signs of beings from outer space are sometimes the
things we see often but never take notice as to how it got there. For example,
the Great Pyramids of Egypt are terribly huge and made of giant rocks that
would seem impossible to move, let alone stack up. The Great Pyramids were made
of collosal squared stones that were piled up to make a pyramid shaped monument
for the deceased kings and queens. How could such heavy rocks be carried up?
In the same vincinity, the Sphinx is also a landmark taken into
consideration as having possibly been made by extraterrestrials. The
controversial Face on the planet Mars is supposedly related to the face on the
Sphinx. The dimensions of the two faces are proportional. That strange
similarity is being looked into by scientists to see if maybe beings of
another planet may have visited this very planet far before modern
civilization. Skeptics argue that one source of evidence may prove this theory
wrong. The Pyramid of Meidum had possibly collapsed, as stated in a theory of
a retired Oxford University physicist, Kurt Mendelssohn. His theory stated
that the pyramid collapsed during the third phase of its making. The
irregularly shaped stones were mounted badly, and so they exerted a downward
pressure on bottom layers of the pyramid. Eventually, the pyramid collapsed
into a pile of rubble. Being so, one could disprove this as being made by
outer beings. Perfection would be expected from such beings if strong enough
to move the huge rocks. Another example of a trial and error process not
associated with such powerful beings is the Bent Pyramid of Danshur (c. 2600
B.C.). It's abrupt change of slope from 54 to 42 degrees showed again that a
correction was made to the creation of a pyramid. Had the creators of the
pyramid tried to continue at the 54 degree slope, it would most likely have
been demolished just as the Pyramid of Meidum.
Another "proof" of extraterrestrial beings is the crop circles. What
they are are circles of field plants, usually wheat and such, that are crushed
in a circular pattern and all in one direction. They are made overnight, and
from the sky, one can see that they tend to connect together. In the medieval
times, people thought that it was taken by a black devil-like creature that
would reap the wheat and have the wheat gone all in one night. Now, people and
scientists think that it could possible be the landing marks of alien
spacecrafts. They are perfectly round, and would seem a probable place to
land, especially at night. But this one has been solved. Though scientists
have come up with all sorts of theories, such as a wind vortex theory that
stated that a mass of strong wind could form small-scale vortexes that break
down explosively on crops, to a fungus theory that said that a particular
type of fungus would prohibit growth in an area, the answer has been revealed,
and on prime time television. A report on a show showed who had made the crop
flattenings. With the crop circles being found all over the world, from the
U.S.A to Japan, this solution would not be probable, and not to mention that
this was recorded in 17th century wood carvings. It was explained and claimed
by a group of people that created the hoax. How they did it was amazing. One
would think that if it was made by humans, how was it done so quickly
overnight. The people explained that overnight, they ran quickly into the
fields and got to work right away. One person would stand in the center of
where the circle was to be, and hold a rope. Another person was to take the
rope and spin around in a circle so all of the crop was flattened in one
direction. This was done fast and effectively, so that by the next morning,
it would appear as if something had landed on it. How is it then, that this
was recorded since the medieval times? What about the other patterns (straight
lines, rectangles, etc.)?
One supposed marking of the past astronauts can also be found today.
The Nazca Plain, located between the towns of Nazca and Palpa of southern Peru
is a long stretch of desert about 40 miles long and 9 miles wide. On the plain
lies long lines and geometric shapes that represent nothing apparent from the
point of view on the ground. But, if one were to go high up in the air, one
could make out animals made up of the lines and shapes. Among the animals are
birds, a monkey, a spider, and lizards. The question is how were they seen so
that they were made correctly? What were they for? Many believe that the lines
were marked there for airfields and landing strips. The shapes strangely match
some of the ancient constellations. These lines and shapes, made somewhere
from 400 B.C. and 900 A.D., were made by the removal of surface stones to
reveal the lighter soil underneath. Though some of the plain has been damaged
with recent tire tracks, the shapes are still clearly visible. How is that the
Nazcans could have possibly gotten high enough off of the ground to see the
shapes and lines? Did outer beings aid the ancient Mayans in the creation of
the shapes? As for landing strips, some reasons against it being so are ones
such as why would such a spacecraft would need a landing strip, some run into
hills, some are 5 miles long, and landing at night would be impossible as
landing lights would not have existed. In addition, the soft soil found on
the Nazca Plain would not be the type of land to need a landing strip. Though
that eliminates one possibilty, that still does not account for how such
shaped were made. A possible answer may be on a piece of Nazcan pottery. On it
is a depiction resmbling a hotair bag. Michael Debakey, a director of the
Miami-based International Explorers Society, created a theory that stated that
maybe the Nazcans themselves floated up there. How? He says that smoke,
captured in finely woven textiles, could collect soot and eventually be able
to hold the amount of hot air needed to float. Even burning pits are found on
the Nazca lines. On November 1975, a test flight of a basic hot air ship was
to be done by two IES members. It was successful, there showing that flight
could have been possible. It did no necessarily prove that the Nazcans flew
to see the carvings, but it still stands as a possibility.
There is another artifact called Piris Re'is map. This is an artifact
that is less disprovable because there really is no true explanation. What it
is is a map discovered in 1929 by the Director of National Museums, B. Halil
Etem Eldem. It was a 1513 map of part of Africa, South America, and sections
of Antartica. The puzzling thing is that it would not have been possible to
have been made except with an aerial view (quite high) of the lower portion of
the Earth. Made by Piri Re'is (or Piri Ibn Haji Mehmed), it was also part of
Columbus's works of maps. Basing part of his map off of a map drawn by
Columbus, it had remarkable accuracy when a grid was constructed and was
transferred to a modern globe. When examined this way by Captain Arlington H.
Mallery, a student of old maps, and M.I. Walters of the U.S. Navy Hydrographic
Office, the accuracy on the map to the coasts of North and South America was
discovered to be incredible. Studies again by Professor Charles H. Hapgood and
Richard W. Strachan, a mathematician, showed that the map was even comparable
to that of conventional satellites. Such startling accuracy is inexplicable.
Only a few errors stand in the way of it being "perfect." Hapgood remarked:
'In the first place, Cuba was wrongly labeled Espaniola (Hispaniola,
the island now comprising Haiti and the Dominican Republic) by Piri
Re'is. This error was accepted by Philip Kahle who studied the map in
the 1930's....Nothing could better illustrate how ignorant Piri Re'is
was of his own map. The mislabeling of Cuba also clearly shows that
all he did was to get some information verbally from a sailor captured
by his uncle, or from some other source, and then try to fit the
information to a map already in his possession, a map he may have
found in the Turkish Naval Archives, which possibly inherited from the
Byzantine Empire....I have compared the island I have identified on
the Piri Re'is map as Cuba with a modern map of that island.
This comparison shows that what we have....on Piri Re'is map is a map
of Cuba, but a map of its eastern half.'[6]
Some other errors were an extra Amazon River and the missing Drake
Passage between Cape Horn and the Antarctic circle. Even if there were a few
errors, it still does not make up for most of the perfection of the map when
compared to recent map pictures of our Earth.
Still in the area of proof, many other examples exist. One such is the
great statues of Easter Island. Many of these huge statues still stand upright
today on Easter Island. These statues, some averaging twelve tons, are
examples of one of two things. Either beings from outerspace assisted the
inhabitants of the island, or the inhabitants themselves carved and placed
these huge statues on the island. Volcanic rock was used to make these
collosal statues, and after being carved, must be carried out far so they
ended up where they are now. Stone picks are littered all over the place, but
it does not necessarily mean that humans made them all by themselves. Some
believe that intelligent beings first started making them, but upon their
departure from the island, had not completed all of the statues. The Easter
Islanders attempted to finish the task, but threw their instruments down in
frustration. For those that say these were impossible to make, it only took
six men and use of old stone picks and gourds of water to carve the statues.
Dragging it the lolng distance took alot of men and was hard, yet it was still
possible. That only proves the possibility, but what happened is still
unknown.
The most shocking piece of evidence is about a speech that one man had
made and other information that came with the computer file. A computer file,
from 1990 or so, consisted of a transcription of the speech that Milton
William Cooper spoke to the public on Novermber 17, 1989 at the "Whole Life
Expo" in Los Angeles, CA, and a paraphrased summary of the many programs that
go on that our government has not admitted to. His speech was transcribed word-
for-word from a microcassette recording, then typed to a computer file.
Mr. Cooper first starts out by telling his experience with the
military and how his ancestors were into it, too. Then he jumps into how he
first heard of the UFO's after he left home to enter the Air Force, the
Strategic Air Command. He tells of how he met men who had took participation
in crashed "alien-craft" recoveries. He never took them seriously until
he saw one for himself. After joining the Navy, he eventually volunteered for
submarine work. When he was on the USS Tyroot, SS-416, on a trip from the
Portland/Seattle area and his home port at Pearl Harbor, he was on his way to
seeing his first UFO for himself, unknowingly. At the Pearl Harbor sub base,
he saw a large craft, about the size of a Midway class carrier, as he
described it. It was the size of an aircraft carrier! He described as rising
out of the water about two and a half nautical miles off the port bow. He
claims it tumbled slowly on its axis, and then took off into the clouds.
While reporting it to the officer of the deck, he never told him really what
he had seen because he had no substantial proof and nobody else witnessed it.
Ensign Ball, the officer of the deck, was asked by Mr. Cooper to help him
cover the area. While out there, another UFO, the same size, came out of the
sky and went into the water. Another person, the starboard lookout, Seaman
Dejeralimo, also saw the occurrence. After being called to the bridge, being
accompanied by the chief quartermaster, he and the others watched the aircraft
leave the water again. Mr. Cooper claimed it was flying so fast in the air it
could not have been anything man made. This is what had started Mr. Cooper to
become more interested in UFO's now that he had been a witness of one himself.
He later tells about another story of when he was sent to Vietnam and again
he experienced alien and UFO activity. From attacks from these "enemy
helicopters" to a whole village disappearing, this had enforced his belief in
the existance of UFO's. After leaving Vietnam, he was attached to the
headquarters staff of the Commander in Chief of the United States Pacific
Fleet at Macalappa, Hawaii.
It was in this tour of duty that he received first hand documents of
unbelievable information. Whether you are in the military or in the
government, he says that security clearance is all the same to see this
classified information. First, one would need security clearance, and the
level of clearance must correspond with the level of classified information
that one would want to see. Here, it was classified "Top Secret, Magic,
Restricted information." It turned out that he had the highest security
classification level of the whole U.S. To get such access, one must have a
Federal Bureau Investigation backround check, and then, later, federal agents
are sent to all of your teachers, you home, your schools, your neighbors, and
practically anybody that had contact with you. They ask them questions to
determine if you a elligible for that type of access. Your job determines how
much information you will get to see, but at any rate, you now have Bureau of
Investigation clearance, which is everything Top Secret and above. In his
case, he was assigned to the Intelligence Briefing Team of the Commander in
Chief of the United States Pacific Fleet. He had to know about everything that
was going on on about half of the Earth's area, namely the Indian ocean,
Pacific ocean and land masses between. He's must keep track of an unbelievable
amount of information within a 24-hour basis. A briefing team is there to help
out. Every once in a while, they got messages marked 'Top Secret, Magic,
Restricted Infromation' and it was given to them in such a way that only
answers were given, but the answers did no good as the questions were blotched
out.
Later, he did receive possession of two UFO documents; one called
"Project Grudge" and another called "Operation Majority." The first one,
Project Grudge, contained the past history of alien involvement since 1936,
and it also talked of Germany's involvement with a crashed disk that they had
recovered and had attempted to copy the techonology. We had eventually
captured a whole aircraft in 1947, near Roswell, New Mexico (same one
mentioned previously). In addition, dead aliens were recovered, and autopsies
were performed on these. Photographs of live aliens were shown, as well as
photographs of an alien called "E.B." (short for Ebe). Ebe was held captive
until his demise on June 2, 1952. From his capture in 1949, to the history
of aliens and their craft from the 1800's, this project was full of
information.
He saw names of other projects, including one that was to test fly a
recovered alien craft that had been recovered in great condition. The
project's name was "Project Redlight." Test flights were first conducted in
the Tonopah test range in Nevada, and was later moved to another special area,
ordered to be created by president Eisenhower, called "Area-51." It is code
named Dream Land (greater detail in this area will be developed later). The
government will not admit to its existence, but a flight over there and a look
down, and you will surely see it. This project had continued on until about
1962 when a test flight ended up in disaster as the pilots were killed, and
its expolsion was seen over the tri-state area. Nobody knew why the craft had
exploded, but at a later date, the aliens had supplied us with three crafts
and aliens to instruct us to fly these craft. Still going, this project has
led to our making of our own "UFO's." We have taken the techonology of the
alien's and built our own "hyper-sonic space ships." Even some of the UFO's
reported around the world are actually flown by U.S. personnel.
This is bologny you say. When James Oberth retired, he had received a
special award from the government, and at a ceremony, he got up to speak and
said, "Gentlemen, we cannot take credit for all the technilogical
developments that we have had in the last decade. We have had help, " and
that is when he was stopped. A reporter had interrupted and asked what country
had helped us. Oberth replied, "It was those little guys from out in space."
This happened in 1959 according to what Mr. Cooper said.
Mr. Cooper then tells of what is called the Jason Society. It is a
secret group that does exist, and Mr. Cooper told of the letter he had
received from the Pentagon. It consist of 51 names, each having the highest
security clearances in the nation. On the list are six Nobel Prize winners,
which are the top of the science world. He then tells that they know the true
physics of our world, and Mr. Cooper says that what people are being taught
about physics in college is all information that doesn't work. Gravity is not
as we think it is. There is a Unified Theory that exists, and it is exactly
what makes these craft work.
He then tells of what is called the Billy Goodman's show on KVEG out
of Las Vegas. He and a friend would talk about Groom Lake and what was going
on there. The listeners had no trust in Mr. Cooper, so they went out there
themselves to see the spectacle. The first night, roughly 100 people saw four
alien craft going through flights, doing fantastic things. Now they believe
that it is all government controlled and aliens don't exsit. He says with
reassurance that in the time to come, they will soon understand.
Next, Mr. Cooper tells of Whitley Strieber's Book "Majestic." The book
is actually supposed to be a test to see how the public would react to alien
activity. There are documents in there that Strieber claims as being fake, but
most of the documents are the ones that just came out of Project Grudge.
Whitley is incorporated with the government because those documents are real
and in the front of the book, he says he was helped to get information from
Moore, Shanderey, and Friedman. Some of those documents in there are the same
ones that Mr. Cooper saw. In addition, William Moore admitted on July 1 that
he is an agent of the U.S. government, and the others are, too.
Mr. Cooper then tells of how the government is hiding all of this
information. He states that this is eventually going to leak out and everybody
will eventually know the truth. The government is being smart about it though.
Rather than blatantly blurt it out when almost all know, they have done things
so that our society will not be shocked and collapse. Letting small bits and
pieces out is keeping the public knowledgable of the UFO controversy.
In order to keep it secret, they needed money. How? In a document
Operation Majority, it specifically stated that when George Bush was the
president and CEO of Sapata Oil, he, with help from the Central Intelligence
Agence, Planned the first large-scale deug importation into the U.S. from
South and Central America by fishing boat, to oil platforms of Sapata Oil,
and from there into the beach. Drugs are still being brought up. It has been
proven that this was true as Mr. Cooper had said he had affadavits from people
who work in the Gulf of Mexico, who say it's true.
From the audience, somebody yells, "Just say NO!" in response, Mr.
Cooper then replies that that is what us, as citizens, must do. He says that
the information must be leaked everywhere so people are aware. He said that
people, like him, risk there lives and families just giving speeches like the
one he is making.
On the same topic, President Kennedy was killed for the same reason.
So many wonder why the great president had died. Who would have wanted to kill
him? One would be very surprised to find out it was part of the operation that
the CIA assembled to assassinate the president. Who shot him? His name is
William Greer, the driver of the car the president was riding in. Enough proof
is given to prove that this is, in fact, true. Many say that is not what the
tapes portray that we always see on television. For one thing, the real tape
is available, but these phnoy videos have the section cut out where the driver
shoots over his shoulder. The president was killed for the reason that he
ordered to cease the importation and sale of drugs to the American people, and
that the existence of aliens was to be planned to be shown to the public in
the following year. Operation Majority stated that. His kill was ordered by
the policy committee of the Vilderbergers. The plan was carried out in Dallas,
The assasination involved agents of the CIA, Division-5 of the FBI, the Secret
Service, and the Office of Naval Intelligence. The driver used a recoilless,
electrically operated, gas-powered pistol specially constructed by the CIA to
kill people at close range. The pistol fired an explosive pellet which
released a large amount of shellfish poison in the brain, which is why the
brain was removed. The brain had indeed diappeared, and because the presence
of the shellfish poison was not to be discovered. If found, it would have
proved that Lee Harvey Oswald indeed did not assassinate the president. Lee
never did fire a shot...he was the dud.
Then a member of the audience asked, "Why haven't you been
assassinated?" Mr. Cooper responded that if he were to be killed, then
everybody would know that what he had said was true. Another person asked what
had happened to the press and others who had seen the assassination. Mr.
Cooper replied that 18 had been murdered within two years of the event. He
also stated that the odds of that happening is 1 in 300,000 trillion. Another
person asked why the driver had to kill Kenedy. Mr Cooper said that the other
two who were to kill him had missed. One hit him in the throat, and the two
others hit John Connelly. The two that his the govenor were from directly
behind the limousine. Govenor Connelly still kept his mouth shut after two
hits. The one that his Kennedy in the throat came from the grassy knoll.
One person asked why hasn't anybody else discovered this technology
that the aliens are coming up with. It is that quite a few people have found
it, but all have been stopped, and will be continued to be stopped. Once one
discovers it, it is free energy. Once one has free energy, nobody has control
over you, even the government. In response to another question, Mr. Cooper
added that the new alien technology is contained in the Stealth bomber.
To end the speech, Mr. Cooper responded to the question, "What can
we all do to help bring this out?" Revolt is not the way. He says to get a
copy of the Constitution, learn it, and start calling your senators and
representatives. Tell them you want to know what is going on.
A question came up with the deal with the aliens. What was traded for
the alien technology? People and animals were. The Soviet Union is working in
conjunction with us. One asked why the shellfish poison was necessary since
a lot of his braing was blown off anyway. They had wanted him to be dead the
first time.
In addition, infomation about our base on Mars came out as well.
The project was called "Adam and Eve." In other information, Jackie Kennedy
was told not to tell of the assassination by the driver. Her children's lives
were with the Secret Service. Later, discussion about the Roswell crash also
took place, and about how the dead bodies were there and the ship. The
lecture was then ended. In conjunction with the Roswell crash, Alternative-2
and Alternative-3 were mentioned. They are contingency plans, made by the
government. One is to delay information about the aliens, and the other is
about a terrorist group that had entered the country with a Nuclear weapon
and plans to detonate it in a major city. All dissidents would be taken up
and placed in concentration camps.
The rest of the file is where the interesting information comes from.
Most of this is unbelievable, but Mr. Cooper devotes a small section of the
appendix of Operation Majority on his oaths. It reads:
"This file contains the absolute true information regarding
the alien presence on Earth and the U.S. Government's involvement
with the aliens.
This file contains only the information as I saw it and only
my information.
It does not contain any information from any other source.
...I, Milton William Cooper, 1311 S. Highland #205, Fullerton,
California, 92632, 1-714-680-9537, do solemnly swear that the in-
formation contained in this file is true and correct to the best
of my knowledge.
...I swear that I saw this information in 1972 in the perfor-
mance of my duties as a member of the Intelligence Briefing Team
of the Commander In Chief of the Pacific Fleet as a Petty Officer
in the U.S. Navy.
I swear that I underwent hypnotic regression in order to
make the information as accurate as possible.
I swear that I can and will take a lie detector test or any
other test of any reputable person's choosing in order to confirm
this information.
I swear that I can and will undergo hypnotic regression con-
ducted by any reputable and qualified doctor of any reputable
person's choosing in order to confirm this information.
I will not, however submit to any test or hypnosis by anyone
who is now or has ever been connected with the government in any
capacity for obvious reasons.
The following is brief listing of everything that I person-
ally saw and know from 1972 and does not contain any input from
any other source whatsoever."[8]
He starts the MJ-12 section with how this file could kill him. Also
he gives the address of a person that can verify the paragraph where it tells
of why he writes this file and issues some information before getting into the
information. He states that he does not think of himslef as a hero, and that
others would do so too if they knew the truth. He wants the computer file
distributed everywhere.
This document is mostly unabridgable, so this is as it was:
"MAJESTY was listed as the code word for the President of the
United States for communications concerning this information.
OPERATION MAJORITY is the name of the operation responsible
for every aspect, project, and consequence of alien presence on
Earth.
GRUDGE contains 16 volumes of documented information col-
lected from the beginning of the United States investigation of
Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and Identified Alien Crafts
(IACs).
The project was financed by CIA confidential funds
(nonappropriated) and money from the illicit drug trade. Partic-
ipation in the illegal drug trade was justified in that it would
identify and eliminate the weak elements of our society. The
purpose of Project Grudge was to collect all scientific, techno-
logical, medical and intelligence information from UFO/IAC sight-
ings and contacts with alien life forms.
This orderly file of collected information has been used to
advance the United States Space Program.
MJ-12 is the name of the secret control group.
President Eisenhower commissioned a secret society known as
THE JASON SOCIETY (JASON SCHOLARS) to sift through all the facts,
evidence, technology, lies and deception and find the truth of
the alien question.
The society was made up of 32 of the most prominent men in
the country in 1972 and the top 12 members were designated MJ-12.
MJ-12 has total control over everything. They are desig-
nated by the codes J-1, J-2, etc., all the way through the
members of the Jason Society.
The director of the CIA was appointed J-1 and is the Direc-
tor of MJ-12.
MJ-12 is responsible only to the President.
MJ-12 runs most of the world's illegal drug trade.
This was done to hide funding and thus keep the secret from
the Congress and the people of the United States.
It was justified in that it would identify and eliminate the
weak elements of our society.
The cost of funding the alien connected projects is higher
than anything you can imagine.
MJ-12 assassinated President Kennedy when he informed them
that he was going to tell the public all the facts of the alien
presence.
He was killed by the Secret Service agent driving his car,
and it is plainly visible in the film held from public view.
A secret meeting place was constructed for MJ-12 in MARYLAND
and it was described as only accessible by air.
It contains full living, recreational, and other facilities
for MJ-12 and the JASON SOCIETY.
It is code named "THE COUNTRY CLUB." Only those with TOP
SECRET/MAJIC clearance are allowed to go there.
MAJI is the MAJORITY AGENCY FOR JOINT INTELLIGENCE.
All information, disinformation, and intelligence is gath-
ered and evaluated by this agency.
This agency is responsible for all disinformation and oper-
ates in conjunction with the CIA, NSA, and the Defense Intelli-
gence Agency.
This is a very powerful organization, and all alien projects
are under its control.
MAJI is responsible only to MJ-12.
SIGMA is the project which first established communications
with the aliens and is still responsible for communications.
PLATO is the project responsible for diplomatic relations
with the aliens.
This project secured a formal treaty (illegal under the Con-
stitution) with the aliens.
The terms were that the aliens would give us technology.
In return, we agreed to keep their presence on earth a se-
cret, not to interfere in any way with their actions, and to al-
low them to abduct humans and animals.
The aliens agreed to furnish MJ-12 with a list of abductees
on a periodic basis.
MAJIC is the security classification and clearance of all
alien connected material, projects, and information.
MAJIC means MAJI Controlled.
AQUARIUS is a project which compiled the history of alien
presence and their interaction with Homo Sapiens upon this planet
for the last 25,000 years and culminating with the Basque people
who live in the mountainous country on the border of France and
Spain and the Syrians.
GARNET is the project responsible for control of all infor-
mation and documents regarding this subject and accountability of
the information and documents.
PLUTO is a project to evaluate all UFO/IAC information per-
taining to space tel [TRANSMISSION GARBLED]
POUNCE is the project formed to recover all downed/crashed
craft and aliens.
REDLIGHT is the project to test fly recovered alien craft.
It is conducted at AREA 51 (DREAMLAND) in Nevada.
It was aided when the aliens gave us craft and helped us fly
them.
The initial project was somewhat successful in that we flew
a recovered craft, but it blew up in the air, and the pilots were
killed.
The project was suspended at that time until the aliens
agreed to help us.
SNOWBIRD was established as a cover for project REDLIGHT.
Several flying saucer type craft were built using conventional
technology.
They were unveiled to the press and flown in front of the
press.
The purpose was to explain accidental sightings or disclo-
sure of REDLIGHT as having been the SNOWBIRD craft.
LUNA is the alien base on the far side of the Moon.
It was seen and filmed by the Apollo astronauts.
A base, a mining operation using very large machines, and
the very large alien craft described in sighting reports as
MOTHER SHIPS exist there.
NRO is the National Recon Organization based at Fort Carson,
Colorado.
It is responsible for security for all alien or alien craft
connected projects.
DELTA is the designation for the specific arm of the NRO,
which is especially trained and tasked with security of these
projects.
JOSHUA is a project to develop a low frequency pulsed sound
generating weapon.
It was said that this weapon would be effective against the
alien craft and beam weapons.
EXCALIBUR is a weapon to destroy the alien underground
bases. It is to be a missile capable of penetrating 1000 meters
of Tuff/hard packed soil such as that found in New Mexico with no
operational damage.
Missile apogee not to exceed 30,000 feet AGL and impact must
not deviate in excess of 50 meters from designated target.
The device will carry a one-megaton nuclear warhead.
ALIENS: There were four types of aliens mentioned in the
papers. A LARGE NOSED GREY with whom we have the treaty, the
GREY reported in abductee cases that works for the LARGE NOSED
GREY, a blond human like type described as the NORDIC, a red
haired human like type called the ORANGE.
The home of the aliens were described as being a star in the
Constellation of Orion, Barnards star, and Zeta Riticuli 1&2.
I cannot remember even under hypnosis which alien belongs to
which star.
EBE is the name or designation given to the live alien cap-
tured at the 1949 Roswell crash.
He died in captivity.
KRLL OR KRLLL OR CRLL OR CRLLL pronounced Crill or Krill was
the hostage left with us at the first Holloman landing as a
pledge that the aliens would carry out their part of the basic
agreement reached during that meeting.
KRLL gave us the foundation of the yellow book which was
completed by the guests at a later date.
KRLL became sick and was nursed by Dr. G. Mendoza who became
the expert on alien biology and medicine. KRLL later died.
His information was disseminated under the pseudonym O.H.
Cril or Crill.
GUESTS were aliens exchanged for humans who gave us the bal-
ance of the yellow book.
At the time I saw the information there were only three left
alive.
They were called (P&#'s) Alien Life Forms.
[TRANSMISSION GARBLED]
RELIGION
The aliens claim to have created Homo Sapiens through hy-
bridization.
The papers said that RH-blood was proof of this.
They further claimed to have created all four major reli-
gions.
They showed a hologram of the crucifixion of Christ which
the government filmed.
They claim that Jesus was created by them.
ALIEN BASES exist in the four corners area of Utah, Col-
orado, New Mexico, and Nevada.
Six bases were described in the 1972 papers, all on Indian
reservations and all in the four corners area. The base near
Dulce was one of them.
MURDER
The documents stated that many military and government per-
sonnel had been terminated (murdered without due process of law)
when they had attempted to reveal the secret.
CRAFT RECOVERIES
The documents stated that many craft had been recovered.
The early ones from Roswell, Aztec, Roswell again, Texas,
Mexico, and other places.
GENERAL DOOLITTLE made a prediction that one day we would
have to reckon with the aliens, and the document stated that it
appeared that General Doolittle was correct.
ABDUCTIONS were occurring long before 1972.
The document stated that humans and animals were being ab-
ducted and or mutilated.
Many vanished without a trace.
They were taking sperm and ova samples, tissue, performed
surgical operations, implanted a spherical device 40 to 80 mi-
crons in size near the optic nerve in the brain and all attempts
to remove it resulted in the death of the patient.
The document estimated that one in every 40 people had been
implanted.
This implant was said to give the aliens total control of
that human.
CONTINGENCY PLAN SHOULD THE INFORMATION BECOME PUBLIC OR
SHOULD THE ALIENS ATTEMPT A TAKEOVER.
This plan called for a public announcement that a terrorist
group had entered the United States with an atomic weapon.
It would be announced that the terrorists planned to deto-
nate the weapon in a major city.
Martial law would be declared and all persons with implants
would be rounded up along with all dissidents and would be placed
into concentration camps.
The press, radio, and TV would be nationalized and con-
trolled. Anyone attempting to resist would be arrested or
killed.
CONTINGENCY PLAN TO CONTAIN OR DELAY RELEASE OF INFORMATION
This plan called for the use of MAJESTIC TWELVE as a disin-
formation ploy to delay and confuse the release of information
should anyone get close to the truth.
It was selected because of the similarity of spelling and
the similarity to MJ-12.
It was designed to confuse memory and to result in a fruit-
less search for material that does not exist.
SOURCE OF MATERIAL CONTAINED IN THE DOCUMENTS WHICH I SAW
The source of the material was an Office of Naval Intelli-
gence counter-intelligence operation against MJ-12 in order for
the Navy to find out the truth of what was really going on.
The Navy (at that time or at least the Navy that I worked
for) were not participants in any of this.
The different services and the government conduct this type
of operation against each other all the time.
The result of this operation was that the Navy cut them-
selves in for a piece of the action (technology) and control of
some projects.
As you can see this file is only a little different from my
previous file.
Only some names were scrambled previously to confuse the
government long enough for someone to verify that what I have
said is the truth.
I have added information in this file that puts me in abso-
lute danger.
I have sent a copy of this file to people all over the coun-
try and will continue to do so.
Please get this file into as many hands as you can and maybe
that will protect me but I doubt it.
HISTORY WILL BE THE JUDGE OF ME AND THIS INFORMATION, AND I
HAVE NO FEAR OF THAT JUDGEMENT.
I SWEAR THAT THIS INFORMATION IS TRUE AND CORRECT TO THE
BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE.
I wish to thank all those people who have aided me in reach-
ing this point and for their patience and understanding.
I owe you all more than I can ever repay.
Finally, it does not matter who is right and who is wrong or
if a project name is in the wrong place.
It does not matter who is working for whom or what is really
what.
It should be obvious by now that something sinister and ter-
ribly wrong is going on involving the government and the UFO phe-
nomenon.
We must all band together and expose it now.
I have done my part in the best manner that I could.
I can add nothing else except my testimony in Congress or a
court of law that what I saw and have written in this file is
true and that I saw it.
Everything in my previous file that does not conflict with
this file is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and
some of it is from sources and research.
You may combine the files to get the entire picture.
Throw out only that information that conflicts with that
contained in this file.
There will be no further additions or corrections to this
information either now or in the future.
My file is complete and stands to be judged by history.
Sometime in the future the exact papers that I saw will sur-
face, and you will all see this exact information contained
within them.

If this file is correct, aliens do exist, and we have meddled with them for
quite a while. This file has been practically distributed everywhere, and is
from 1990. Not much in results have been seen so far.
Many believers who are constantly disproved still bring up the same
questions, such as, "Isn't it possible that at least 1 other race exists in
this vast univers?" and "How can so many people be wrong about their
abductions and sightings?" If you say that our government would not hide
anything from us, that is surely one thing I can disprove. For example, one
very suspicious area lies in the desert called "Dream Land." This is a secret
base located in the Nevada desert some distance away from Las Vegas. There was
a report on this secret place that lies in the middle of nowhere, and this is
a transcription of what was said during the report:
Peter Jennings: Finally from us this evening, the road to
Dreamland. And there really is such a place, though you are not
supposed to know about it, and the U.S. Air Force is unhappy with
us because we're going to tell you about it. The Dreamland we are
talking about is actually an Air Force base in Nevada. The
Russians know about it, so why not you? ABC's Jimmy Walker has
the results of an ABC News investigation....
Jimmy Walker: We are one hundred miles from Las Vegas driving
across the Nevada desert on public land. There is more here than
meets the eye. A few feet off the dirt road, an electronic sensor
is hidden in the sagebrush.
Glenn Campbell: [Radio static in background.] The base control
has relayed to the patrols that someone has crossed one of their
sensors. That's us.
Walker: So they now know...
Campbell: They know we're here. They'll be here in about ten
minutes.
Walker: Sure enough, minutes later, a white Jeep goes by.
Someone is very interested in who visits this particular piece of
scrub. That someone is the U.S. Air Force. A helicopter flies
out to investigate us. It comes from Groom Lake, one of the most
closely guarded military facilities in the country.
The secret air base which some people call Dreamland or others
Watertown or still others Area 51 is located about twelve miles
over in that direction. It's clearly visible but the government
won't acknowledge that it even exists. And to photograph it would
violate the Espionage Act.
Military historians say the U-2 spy plane was tested at Groom
Lake. More recently, the Stealth fighter. But the base does not
appear on any map, and for the record, the Pentagon will only say
that Groom Lake is part of the vast Nellis Range complex.
Enter Glenn Campbell and Peter Merlin, members of a group that
believes the Air Force has too many secrets and not enough
accountability. Armed with lawn chairs and binoculars, they set
up shop on public land overlooking the air base. And they're
driving the Air Force crazy.
Peter Merlin: There's some large hangers. One is quite enormous.
And a control tower....
Walker: As a result of the prying eyes, the Air Force is trying
to expropriate this hilltop and an adjoining one to add to the
4700 square miles it already controls, saying it's needed for
safety reasons.
Campbell: There was the suggestion that people sitting on this

ridge like we are doing might be hit by aircraft.
Walker: The pending land grab has turned the hilltops into a
tourist attraction, drawing even more attention to the base. Last
month at a federal hearing in Las Vegas, officials got an earful.
Angry Citizen at Hearing: The place is big enough already. How
much expansion do they need? That place is safe. It's stupid.
Another Citizen at Hearing: There have already been allegations
that environmental crimes have been committed there. Now you're
asking for 4000 more acres to hide behind.
Walker: What's more, buy this model plane kit [Testor's "Thunder
Dart"] and you get with it [on the] directions this 1988
photograph of the base taken by a Soviet satellite. The pentagon
says it's okay to show you this picture.
Campbell: The only people this base is being kept secret from are
the American people, the people who pay for it.

Walker: Our story took an unexpected turn as we prepared to
leave. We spotted a Sheriff's car heading our way.
Deputy (at driver's window): We're investigating the possibility
of a criminal offense.
Walker: And what would that criminal offense be?
Deputy: Sir, may I see your driver's license, please.
Walker: They believed we were photographing the facility. They
were wrong. We were detained, questioned and searched. Our
camera, audio equipment and some video tapes were confiscated.
The Air Force held the gear for five days before returning it. No
charges were filed against us.
And every work day, a fleet of privately owned unmarked airliners
shuttle more than 1500 workers from Las Vegas to the base that
doesn't exist.
Campbell (looking through binoculars): Yup, secret base out
there. Sure enough. Same secret base as yesterday.

One may ask, "Why should I care?" Because, for one thing, ALOT of the
tax dollars that you pay are spent on things you do not know about, and
rightfully you should know about them. Space programs and maybe life-on-other-
planets programs exist, and your money goes to them. For example, the SETI
program (Search for Extraterretrial Intelligence) has been going on for a
while now. $100 million dollars has been spent by the U.S. government to set
up a 300-yard-diameter radio telescope. Nothing has been found so far, but if
this "giant radio" at the Aeribo Observatory in Puerto Rico were to receive a
response someday, our future will surely be changed dramatically. The search
for extraterrestrials is on, and one day, we will all know the truth, like it
or not.
