ALASKA SEAFOOD - FAR AND AWAY THE WORLD'S
FINEST

The icy waters surrounding Alaska's 34,000 miles of coastline are
some of the largest, most productive fishing grounds in the world.
Here, in pristine, natural surroundings, Alaska seafood develops
lean flesh, firm texture and superior flavor - the qualities that truly
distinguish Alaska seafood from all others.
Alaska seafood is natural and wild, swimming freely in the cold,
clear waters of the Gulf of Alaska, the Bering Sea and the North
Pacific. And the variety of species is unsurpassed! Alaska seafood is
marketed fresher-frozen and canned all year-round, with some
varieties available fresh during the harvest season.

Varieties of Alaska Seafood

FRESH/FROZEN ALASKA SALMON (5 SPECIES):  King (or Chinook), Sockeye (or Red), Coho (or Silver),
Chum and Pink Salmon

CANNED ALASKA SALMON:  Pink, Sockeye, King, Chum and Coho

SHELLFISH:  King Crab, Snow Crab, Dungeness Crab, Pink
Shrimp, Spot Prawns, Coonstripe, and Sidestripe.

ALASKA WHITEFISH:  Halibut, Pollock, Cod, Rockfish, Sablefish, Sole

And preserving this unrivaled natural quality is of utmost
importance to the Alaska fishing industry, from the fisherman right
to your own purveyor. The quality of Alaska seafood is guaranteed
by the expertise of the Alaska fishermen, who harvest their seafood
at its peak to insure its fresh-caught flavor. The seafood is then
processed fresh, fresh-frozen or canned within hours of harvesting.
State-of-the-art freezing technology preserves the superior flavor
and texture of freshly caught Alaska seafood.

Alaska Seafood - Why Consumers Are Demanding It

There has been a major increase in seafood consumption over the
past decade. And one of the prime reasons for the growth of fish
and shellfish sales is the trend toward a healthier, lighter diet.
Consumers are more knowledgeable about the nutritional value of
seafood and they are demanding seafood of unquestionable quality.
Seafood that is natural. Seafood with the highest standards of
processing, freezing and handling.
Which is what Alaska seafood is all about.
