Purpose of UFONET

Purpose of <<UFONET>>:
---------------------

        <<UFONET>> is a 100% dedicated, computer-linked information
network. It is a loose organization of Computer Bulletin Board Systems
hooked electronically via the Fidonet BBS network. Although we are
currently in our infancy, we hope to soon have <<UFONET>> affiliated
nodes in most of the major metropolitan areas and regions of North
America, including eventually several overseas Nodes. The plans are
ambitious, and our rules and organization is modest so as to help
facilitate the realization of this goal.
       
        Our purpose is to act as unbiased forum for the exchange and
dissemination of some of the latest and most current information in
the field of "UFOlogy". We do not have an editorial policy, and pride
ourselves on our objective approach. In addition to trying to be a
conduit for some of the latest information available on UFO sightings
and developments, we also have an extensive on-line file library which
acts as a resource on past and present information regarding UFOs.

        If you are interested in learning more, and contributing to
the discussion, then I welcome your participation. Though before you
start posting, please be sure to read carefully about our Echo policy.
