  RED DIAVOLYATA, aka MLTI, ISKEY

  -------------------------------

  This is a Russian virus and a copy was received in the West in

  December 1990.

  It contains the text:

           "Eddie die somewhere in time!

            This programm was written in the City of Prostokwashino

            (C) 1990 RED DIAVOLYATA

            Hello! MLTI!"

  The reference to EDDIE is obviously a response to the Bulgarian

  virus known as DARK AVENGER 1800 (or EDDIE) which contains the

  message "Eddie lives ...  somwhere in time!"  and which has spread

  very widely.

  Red Diavolyata translates into 'Little Red Devil' whilst the name

  Dark Avenger is, of course, synonymous with The Devil.

  There is no City of Prostokwashino but there is said to be a famous

  Russian film called Prostokwashino which features a village with

  this name.

  MLTI is an abbreviation of "Moskov'skij Lesotekhnischeskij Institut"

  - the Noscow Forest Engineering Institute.
