Supercreatures "genetically engineering" human bodies for soul habitation?
Consider the logic of the idea. Why would supercreatures need to "engineer"
anything? If they had the knowledge to allow "soul habitation" (if, indeed
a "soul" does exist), then they would be able to create in one step,
as a "god". They would have complete knowledge, thought trains that run
in parallel. They are immortal, no concept of time, they know everything,
so what would be their purpose? We as humans, believe in whatever reality
that makes our minds at peace, good or bad. First hand experience or faith,
it doesn't matter. We can anthropomorphise reality all day. But that won't
change the fact that the human brain will never be able to understand
the universe in ways that other non-human brains are capable of. Human
experience closes the human mind to many things, and many things try to
open the human mind.
Back to the Supercreatures. Here's another popular concept: All-beings,
so powerful, they are bored. They know everything, and there's no point
to existance. They create the reality we now exist in. The goal is to
get back to the All-being state. Skill level is adjusted by nature of
birth, material wealth, physical handicaps, etc. The harder the human
existance, the higher the skill level and vice-versa. The game of life.
Let's say aliens are among us (they may be, it doesn't matter). If the
fact was brought to common knowledge in the media, would it change anything?
What difference would it make? Our lives would be more interesting/terrifying,
and we'd still live our lives and die. Like astrophysics, it's a cool
topic that we enjoy discussing, but to date cannot prove nor disprove
(although there is a "science" to astrophysics, with rules we made up,
and predictions/conclusions that work well enough to give us partial
peace of mind). Remember, whenever the supernatural meets the buck,
smell a rat.
