KrisLBA: I had to find it, sorry. :) Our contracts book is by Rosett.

ILRF: KrisLBA: are you hispanic?
Chreee: Stef: nope...i'm in the night section...work for a firm fulltime...i

VONLYNN: i think it's my property teacher, not the class...she likes visual
aids...
Stef Leigh: Are you planning to stay with your firm after graduation?
Chreee: i spent all of Prop. 2 learning the ins and outs of New York Landlord
Tenant Law...
Chreee: Yuck.
Chreee: Stef: doubtful...i might move to a Wall Street, large firm, or move
out of New York entirely
KrisLBA: I'm not hispanic. I speak spanish (B.A.) and I have a M.A. in
English as a Second Language.
VONLYNN: well i gotta go, i am worn out...we had early CLS prayer breakfast

OnlineHost: LLB 2B has left the room.
Chreee: Stef: probably...i have very specific interests, but they are tooo

Chreee: civil lit. would let me do some of all of them
Stef Leigh: I must go also, I am trying to write a case comment for the law
review competition (fun!)
Chreee: Stef: good luck!
Chreee: I hope to see you on the boards!
Stef Leigh: Thanks, bye!

ILRF: Chreee:Which did you like more than the others?
OnlineHost: JohnEngler has entered the room.
Chreee: i liked torts 2 the best content wise...did the best in prop. 2

OnlineHost: DerekLee has entered the room.
DerekLee: <wave>
Chreee: Derek.....
Chreee: hey PeZman
DerekLee: It was either this or read Tax.
Chreee: hahaha
DerekLee: But I can't stay long, my bill is high for some odd reason. I
believe AOL rounds up to
DerekLee: the nearest hour nowadays.
ILRF: Chreee: I found that I did the best in the classes in which I studied
least.
Chreee: hehehe...then moan and groan to them
Chreee: ILRF: i wouldn't say that in general, but i didn't enjoy prop 2 at
all
Chreee: Derek: like having a folder?
DerekLee: <==== wonders how Chreee's ConLaw stamina is holding up
DerekLee: I LOVE having a folder.
DerekLee: I still can't believe PezFolder exists.
Chreee: Derek: i cut class tonight cause i am told it is better to skip when
not prepared
Chreee: Derek: it's growing by leaps and bounds too
DerekLee: Why, yes, that is true. One of the secrets that no one tells you.
DerekLee: Chreee, you're 2L? I'm wondering because you're in ConLaw which is
typically 1L.
Chreee: derek: this is the first class that's been true in...this guy grade
"recitations"
DerekLee: He should not be allowed to grade participation. Maybe take off
for unpreparedness.
Chreee: All the 2Ls (day and night) have con law at my school
Chreee: what did you have 1L
DerekLee: Interesting. I got that out of my way, thank goodness. My 1L
schedule was:
Chreee: Derek: he grades it..."death of a spouse or child is not an
acceptable excuse"
DerekLee: ConLaw I/II, Property I/II, CivPro I/II, Torts, CrimLaw, Legal
Research & Writing, Lunch.

prof?"
OnlineHost: IGORinNY has entered the room.
DerekLee: Pez, Pez.
DerekLee: "Or death of a salesman."
OnlineHost: ACtri has entered the room.

OnlineHost: ILRF has left the room.
CASLAW1: hello fellow law students
Chreee: 1L days have: Torts 1, Prop 1, K 1, ICP, and Legal Method in fall
DerekLee: herro!
ACtri: Derek you're funny.
DerekLee: What is ICP?
Chreee: Torts 2, Prop 2, K 2, Research and writing, and Crim Spring
Chreee: Civ. Pro,
DerekLee: Incontinent Criminal Progressives?
Chreee: Intro. to Civil Procedure silly...
DerekLee: Intro?
Chreee: their name, not mine...:)
DerekLee: "Hi, I'm Civil. Civil Procedure. I believe you know my brother
Criminal?"
CASLAW1: Hows the Legal Methods course
DerekLee: ACtri: Thank Ewe.
Chreee: i had T, Prop, K, both semesters, plus method in fall and ICP in

Chreee: my legal method course was lame
DerekLee: The curve crushed me second semester.
CASLAW1: Our law skills class is lame
Chreee: CAS: what school?
DerekLee: My appellate advocacy class is lame.
Chreee: My spring was better than fall
DerekLee: All my other classes are laminated.

CASLAW1: Where did you go undergrad
DerekLee: Also, bogart all of your classmate's outlines and smoosh them
together into one big one.
Chreee: Never ever Socrator
IGORinNY: Gilberts for property is the best best thing in this world!!!
DerekLee: Sign up for Bar/Bri and get their cool mega outlines, then get your
refund.
IGORinNY: barbri sucks
ACtri: Anyone a BAR/BRI rep?
DerekLee: That's why I said get your refund.
ACtri: Why does Barbri suck?
OnlineHost: U of MN has entered the room.
Chreee: I blew the money on Prosser's horn for torts...i got my $$$ worth
U of MN: Hello!
Chreee: Why do you say Bar/Bri sucks?
Chreee: hey MN

DerekLee: Hello everyone who came in in the last ten minutes.
OnlineHost: ILRF has entered the room.
IGORinNY: for the bar they have a monopoly --- so i can not comment on that
Chreee: re ILRF
DerekLee: In re ILRF
Chreee: West is trying to break the monopoly big time
U of MN: I'll just watch for now. I'm a lowly Pre-Law. Currently working on
nine applications for 96
CASLAW1: any advice for the legal research
DerekLee: Cool. Send them away and forget about them.
ACtri: good luck, MN. Ace you LSATs!
Chreee: CAS: dunno...in it myself...
DerekLee: It will prepare you for waiting for grades, bar results, and
everything else in the realm of
DerekLee: law.
DerekLee: LSATs: When in doubt, pick 'D'.
Chreee: no doubt...grades can take over a month to get posted...my
longest...2.5 months
CASLAW1: the waiting is the worst
ACtri: MN, what schools?
DerekLee: No, the worst is WALKING TO THE BOARD where the grades are posted.
U of MN: Two tiers really.
ACtri: Derek, LOL :)
U of MN: Minn, Wisc, and Iowa...
ACtri: come out east
U of MN: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, and NYU.

OnlineHost: Will OneL has entered the room.
DerekLee: I picked one school and applied, and now I'm here. If I didn't get

U of MN: Oh yeah, and Michigan.
DerekLee: Pizzas for Domino's. Get to zip around in that neat little car.
CASLAW1: Where is everyone going
DerekLee: Chreeeeeeeeeeee: We just voted to change our schedule. NO post

Chreee: i had changed my mind...
DerekLee: I'm in law school on a whim.
ILRF: DerekLee: Really, grades don't tell much. You know what you learned.
Chreee: derek: i *used* to like you
DerekLee: Yes, now you love me.
CASLAW1: ditto
ACtri: I still haven't heard from 3 waiting lists, four weeks into school at
Fordham now
U of MN: Derek, How was Charleston? I live in an historic neighborhood.
Love those historic cities.
OnlineHost: IGORinNY has left the room.
Chreee: hahahaha...not with pre-holidays finals i don't!
DerekLee: I love Charleston. Still very hot and humid though. I was shocked
to come back to
DerekLee: 69 degree weather.
DerekLee: Chreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee: I will send you an extra nice Xmas
gift then.
CASLAW1: Any D.C. law students here
Chreee: Derek: ok...
Chreee: CAS: you planning on staying in DC?

DerekLee: Depends, maybe.
Chreee: MN: switched cities (temporarily)...now in NYC at St. Johns

OnlineHost: DerekLee has left the room.
CASLAW1: good bye
Chreee: I like it enough
U of MN: Anyone familiar with NYUs public interest loan forgiveness program?
ACtri: Is this a big smile? ====> :)D or something obscene... I'm new to
this
Chreee: yep...MN: VERY tough to get into
CASLAW1: loan forgiveness--what's that?
Chreee: :) is a smile...so is =) and :D and =D
ACtri: MN: I've heard of it... other schools do similar things for public
interest work
CASLAW1: It was a joke--it is a joke
U of MN: The loan forgiveness or the public interest scholarship?
Chreee: oh i'm sorry...i'm thinking of the Public interest fellowship program
U of MN: Yes, but NYU combines loan forgiveness with a scholarship. Pays
full cost of education...
ACtri: I believe they only "forgive" loans for low-pay legal work, ie: public
interest
U of MN: Plus $3,000/year stipend.
CASLAW1: Don't be fooled by their pre-admission promises
ILRF: U of MN: $3,000/year: not impressive
Chreee: UMN: yeah...that PILaw program is extremely tough to get into from
what i'm tolf
ACtri: yes, but what other schools actually give any cash?
U of MN: That is a stipend above and beyond the full tuition, room and board,
etc.
Chreee: told even...they gets loads of public interest law students
Chreee: AC: but $3000 in NYC?
ILRF: U of MN: then it's good.
ACtri: they start out as PI students, but cave by 3L....$$$$$
ACtri: $3000 can buy your beer here!!
Chreee: AC: and they have to pay it all back with interest in that case...
U of MN: How much for a cappachino in Manhattan?
Chreee: dunno...don't drink it
CASLAW1: Signing off for the wonderful world of torts
ACtri: not sure, I drink mine black plain...$2 maybe?
Chreee: a soda at a deli is $.90 to $1.25
Chreee: for a can
Chreee: night CAS
ACtri: a movie is $8
OnlineHost: CASLAW1 has left the room.
U of MN: Bye CAS.
ACtri: bye CAS
Chreee: IMAX is $10

OnlineHost: Scoop7110 has entered the room.

ACtri: starting salary $85,000 - $90,000
Chreee: ac: if you work on wall street...
ACtri: hi scoop
ILRF: Chreee: being fascitious[sp]?

U of MN: Maybe I'll stay here in Minnesota.
Scoop7110: FECETIOUS...
Chreee: scoop...please kill the caps lock
ILRF: Scoop7110: Thanks, I'll rely on you for my future needs.
ACtri: MN, don't get scared by NY, I'm from Iowa
U of MN: Not scared, I've been to Newark, Detroit, and spend many weekends in
Chicago.
Chreee: NY is a great place...it has big ups and can have major downs...but
if you like...
U of MN: I'd love New York.
Chreee: to live in large cities, then it's ok...it's very expensive and very
big, but there's always
ACtri: I had never visited NY before I moved here...I love it, usually...
U of MN: I too was being fascitious about staying in the Twin Cities.
Chreee: something to do...
Chreee: i just preferred London and Washington and Chicago over New York
Chreee: :)
ACtri: Chree: do you have any time to do any of the wonderful NYthings?
Chreee: ac: not during the school year...full time job and night classes...
U of MN: ny is the pitts. MN ;s wife
Chreee: i spent most of my weekends this summer at the Jersey shore cause my
SO was down there
ACtri: I met my husband here. OK by me
U of MN: My wife loves Chicago and Toronto, hates NYC.
Chreee: i have been to great restaurants and some plays and all the tourist-y
places
Chreee: I don't get to go clubbing though...i want to do that sometime while
i live here
ACtri: The only way to change her view is to visit NY with someone who loves
it...
ACtri: you'll see the best NY that way
U of MN: is that an offer
ILRF: U of MN: Lookin for love...
ACtri: OK, but no room in my teeny NY apt. Did we mention the ridiculous

Stef Leigh: Are you planning to stay with your firm after graduation?
Chreee: i spent all of Prop. 2 learning the ins and outs of New York Landlord

Chreee: Yuck.
Chreee: Stef: doubtful...i might move to a Wall Street, large firm, or move
out of New York entirely
KrisLBA: I'm not hispanic. I speak spanish (B.A.) and I have a M.A. in

OnlineHost: LLB 2B has left the room.
Chreee: Stef: probably...i have very specific interests, but they are tooo

OnlineHost: DerekLee has entered the room.
DerekLee: <wave>
Chreee: Derek.....
Chreee: hey PeZman
DerekLee: It was either this or read Tax.
Chreee: hahaha
DerekLee: But I can't stay long, my bill is high for some odd reason. I

My 1L

acceptable excuse"
DerekLee: ConLaw I/II, Property I/II, CivPro I/II, Torts, CrimLaw, Legal

DerekLee: Pez, Pez.
DerekLee: "Or death of a salesman."
OnlineHost: ACtri has entered the room.

Chreee: 1L days have: Torts 1, Prop 1, K 1, ICP, and Legal Method in fall

ACtri: Derek you're funny.
DerekLee: What is ICP?
Chreee: Torts 2, Prop 2, K 2, Research and writing, and Crim Spring
Chreee: Civ. Pro,
DerekLee: Incontinent Criminal Progressives?
Chreee: Intro. to Civil Procedure silly...
DerekLee: Intro?
Chreee: their name, not mine...:)
DerekLee: "Hi, I'm Civil. Civil Procedure. I believe you know my brother
Criminal?"
CASLAW1: Hows the Legal Methods course
DerekLee: ACtri: Thank Ewe.
Chreee: i had T, Prop, K, both semesters, plus method in fall and ICP in

Chreee: my legal method course was lame
DerekLee: The curve crushed me second semester.
CASLAW1: Our law skills class is lame
Chreee: CAS: what school?
DerekLee: My appellate advocacy class is lame.
Chreee: My spring was better than fall

OnlineHost: ILRF has entered the room.
IGORinNY: for the bar they have a monopoly --- so i can not comment on that
Chreee: re ILRF
DerekLee: In re ILRF
Chreee: West is trying to break the monopoly big time
U of MN: I'll just watch for now. I'm a lowly Pre-Law. Currently working on

DerekLee: I picked one school and applied, and now I'm here. If I didn't get

U of MN: Oh yeah, and Michigan.
DerekLee: Pizzas for Domino's. Get to zip around in that neat little car.

Did we mention the ridiculous
rents?
Chreee: ac is right...nyc is a great place, but it is far from perfect.
U of MN: AC, you are probably right. She didn't like Chicago until I brought
her there.
U of MN: ok maybe you guys are right
Chreee: (did i mention having my car stolen two months after moving here?)
Chreee: heheheheh
Chreee: seriously...check it out for yourself.
ACtri: Can we talk about study aids again? Anyone use Legalines?
U of MN: where else would you go to train as a lawyer. most poeple are in
your face.;
Chreee: i did for contracts and it was of little help
ACtri: What about those audio tapes? Text Tours...etc
OnlineHost: DanCooke has entered the room.
Chreee: dunno about tapes
Chreee: shoot i have to leave my own chat room soon!
ILRF: ACtri: Legalines might be good for class preparation, but not in
mastering the subject.
