characteristics of people that Brad Steiger seems to think might
have a touch of the star-brush in their background (i.e. alien
genes). The list was found in a 'zine called "Psychic & UFO
Revelations in the LAST DAYS" by Timothy Green Beckley (1980).
(I found a bunch of old UFO stuff at a garage sale. :-)

            UNUSUAL REPORT OF A UFO AND A GREEN-FACED ENTITY
              SEEN NEAR AN OLD U.S.A.F. NIKE MISSLE BASE

     DATE:      June 24, 1988

     TIME:      Sometime between 12:30 and 2:00 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time

     LOCATION:  Redmond, Washington

     DURATION:  Estimates vary, around 7 minutes for sighting of UFO;
                about 45 minutes total duration including sighting of
                face, possibly longer

     Four 11-year-old girls who had attended a private Christian
elementary school together were having a slumber party reunion at the
home of one of the girls on Education Hill in Redmond, Washington.  At
a few minutes after either 12:30 AM or 1:30 AM they were looking out
the window to see if they could find the girl's dog.  They were
downstairs in the TV room, while the parents and brother and sister of
the host were asleep upstairs.  They witnessed a craft-like UFO,
described as either a domed-disc or two plates put together edge-to-
edge, hovering in the night sky.  It had white and red lights and
possibly faint green lights around the rim of the object.  Of the two
girls interviewed, both thought right away that it was a UFO (i.e.
"spacecraft"), and not an aircraft because it was similar to a picture
they had once seen in a book.

     The UFO was hovering at about 30 degrees above the horizon when
first sighted.  It was described as smaller than a house in size,
possibly 25 feet in diameter.  The UFO moved to the right horizontally
about 10 degrees, reversed direction abruptly and moved back in a
straight line to the left 10 degrees, moved back to the right 5
degrees to a center position, and then moved really fast straight
down.  It moved down behind some tall evergreen trees and the girls
thought that it probably came down in a clearing in Nike Park, about
3-4 blocks from the girl's home where they were staying.  The UFO was
reported to be visible through the window of the TV room for a total
of between 2 and 7 minutes.

     Some time later, within 15 minutes to a half an hour, two of the
girls witnessed a frightening face.  The accounts of how the face
appeared to them varies.  In one account the girls thought they saw
something like a shadow or a figure at the top of the stairs leading
up to the kitchen.  The became scared and hid in their sleeping bags;
they zipped them over their heads and lay next to each other.  They
conversed through the bags and agreed to look at the same time, so
that it would not be too scary.  As they pulled the bags down from
over their heads they saw a dark, mossy green face only about arm's
length away.  Really frightened, one of the girls pulled the sleeping
bag over her head, and when she looked out again in a few minutes, the
being was gone.  The other girl's account said they were lying on
their backs trying to get to sleep and staring up at the ceiling when
all of a sudden they both saw this green face.  She watched it for
about 45 seconds, "and then it just, went away".  Asked if it just
vanished like it was a slide from a projector or something, she said,
no, it wasn't like that.  It was just like a real face, but it was
green in color and it was looking at them.  The second girl appears to
be unclear about how the face appeared because she also reports she
covered her head with the sleeping bag at one point but can't remember
when.

     The face was described as greenish in hue, with red, glowing
eyes.  Interviewed separately, both of the girls said there was
something like a dent in one of the cheeks.  One girl said it looked
like the "face on Mars" photograph she saw in the newspaper about a
week later, while the other girl said it had pointy ears and bushy
eyebrows.  When asked a direct question later about the pointed ears,
the second girl said she didn't remember any ears.  If the face had
indeed been attached to a body, one girl figures that the being must
have been about 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall.

     About 10 to 15 minutes later the second girl, who lived there,
saw a clump of rainbow colored lights slowly revolving in her kitchen
and flashing light all over the ceiling and refrigerator.  The first
girl made a vague reference to lights in the kitchen but apparently
did not see the rainbow-colored clump of lights hovering in the
kitchen (the kitchen is partially visible from the TV room, up half a
flight of stairs).

     The girls became noisy discussing what they had seen woke the
mother.  The mother came down and ordered them to go to sleep.
Apparently nothing further happened that night.

     Of the other two girls, they are certain that one saw what they
saw but would not consent to be interviewed by UFO investigators.
They are unsure what the fourth girl saw.  The second girl, the one at
whose home the events occurred, reported that she had had a
precognitive experience during that previous day, recalling during a
croquet match that she had dreamed those exact events some weeks
before.  She also reports that since the UFO incident she is no longer
subject to nose bleeds, which she reports have occurred to her
chronically throughout her life and also occur with her father.  She
also said that a soccer injury to her knee no longer gave her any pain
after the encounter, and she attributes the healing to the event.

     The neighborhood in which her home is located borders an old Air
Force Nike Missle base.  Part of the property is now a Washington
State National Guard facility, part of it is deserted and belongs to
the local school district, and part of it has been converted to a
park.  We talked to a staff sargent on the National Guard base who
reported that he was sleeping at the base on the night in question and
recalls nothing unusual.  He reported that light aircraft tend to use
the base as a landmark and so overflights are frequent, and, during
the daytime hours, hot air balloons frequently come over the base from
the Sammamish River valley to land in some clearings to the east.

This is an excellent book about just that subject.  Well annotated, with

There is a book - THE QUEST FOR SS433: THE DISCOVERY OF THE ASTRONOMICAL
PHENOMENON OF THE CENTURY, published by Viking Penguin (c) 1985.  It was
written by David H. Clark, head of Space Astrophysics Group at Rutherford
Appleton Laboratory near Oxford.  This has recently been available from one
the discounted book distributors - Edward R. Hamilton, Falls Village, CT

Subj: Questions on Clear Intent (Fawcett & Greenwood)

I just finished reading CLEAR INTENT: THE GOVERNMENT COVERUP OF THE UFO
EXPERIENCE by Lawrence Fawcett and Barry J. Greenwood.  This is definately
the icing on the cake and I'm glad I read it _after_ reading Above Top Secret
(Good).

The 1st question I want to ask is: What's next?  Where are all the FOIA
documents _after_ the mid-to-late 70's?  How successful was Ronald Raygun in
castrating the FOIA process?  Instead of those questions, can someone just
point me in the right (published) direction?

The word "meaconing" (pg. 86), in reference to an article published in MIJI
Quarterly (3Q/1978, Headquarters Electronic Security Command) is apparently
an Air Force classified word!  How can anybody classify a word?  What does it
mean?  (Does the 'M' stand for microwave?)

Whatever became of the Cash/Landrum lawsuit against the US Gov't?  Whatever
became of Cash/Landrum?

In an September 24, 1952, memo from the CIA'a Assistant Director of
Scientific Intelligence to the CIA Director regarding the national security
implications of UFOs, there's the following reference: "CIA consultants
stated that these solutions would probably be found..., with the added
possibility that the present dispersal of nuclear waste products might also
be a factor."  (pg. 124)  Does anyone know what this reference to nuclear
waste might mean?  This is the first and only time I've come across this
idea, does anyone know of other references?

"Science stands for the investigation of the unexplained; not the explanation
of the uninvestigated."  (pg. 128)  Excellent, outstanding quote...
I don't remember the page number, but there is a reference to Dr. Paul
Bennewitz (I think it was him) taking pictures of UFOs using some special
film and/or developing process with a telescope, and silhouetting the shots
against the Moon.  Is this verified?  How could this method yield a useful
photograph?  What has become of Bennewitz?  What has become of all his photos
and videotape?

This last question is a huge question and I won't be bothered a bit if it is
ignored.  Given the near total infiltration of NICAP by the CIA, what is the
suppossed 'condition' of MUFON and/or CUFOS regarding similar 'outside'
involvement?  Given the government's apparent position of a national security
threat posed by UFOs, or at least a national security embarassment, should
'outside' involvement be considered bad/wrong?

CONTACT UFO will be (hopefully) hitting store shelves within two or three
months.  My name is Lou Zucaro, and I am the Assistant Producer for the video
series.  My collegues and I have been working for some time on this project,
and we're really very excited about it.  It will be distributed by our parent
company, MPI Home Video (a trip to your local video store should reveal at
least a few MPI titles, and if not, I'd be glad to send you a catalog).  Keep
in mind, however, that almost all of the titles by MPI are just distributed by
them, not produced by them.  Contact UFO is different.  We've shot interviews
and scenics at the 1990 MUFON symoposium, the Rocky Mountain UFO Conference in
Laramie, Gulf Breeze (althought I'm still not sure why...), Alamagordo New
Mexico, and Roswell.  We're still shooting a few last minute things here in
the Chicago area (interviews) and we hope to have the program finished by the
second week in February.

The first tape in the series is on abductions, and we think people will find
in very interesting.  I would really like to hear from anybody who has any
questions I might be able to answer on the subject (not that I'm an
encyclopedia on the subject or anything, but I do get to spend 40 hours a week
doing research - a benefit of doing a UFO project at work).

                        CITIZENS  AGAINST  UFO  SECRECY


CAUS was created in 1978 to battle what we perceive as unjustified government
secrecy in relation to UFO's.  Through Freedom of Information Act requests and
several court cases, which at one point reached the Supreme Court of the
United States in 1980 (CAUS vs. NSA), we have obtained approximately 5,800
pages of files on UFO's from many Federal agencies, FBI, CIA, NSA, DIA, USAF-
OSI, Department of State, Navy and Army Intelligence.

Some of these were published in our newsletter, "JUST CAUSE", which appeared
between May 1978 and January 1982.  The newsletter has been inactive for
almost three years but it is now being revived as a result of extraordinary
interest generated by the book, "CLEAR INTENT".

For the time being, JUST CAUSE new series will appear soon as a quarterly
newsletter of at least four pages, double-column with interim bulletins as
stories develop.  Subscriptions will be $10.00 per year ($15.00 foreign
subscriptions).

Most of the subscription cost will be used to fund FOIA requests to government
agencies, pay search and reproduction fees incurred in such requests and aid
in financing court costs for especially interesting information on UFO's.

Without the help of concerned persons, like yourself, CAUS cannot do the work
it has to do to get to the bottom of the UFO mystery.  There is strength in
numbers so let our united voices be heard!

TITLE: Real(?) Alien pictures on Entertainment Tonight...

   I am absolutely amazed that no-one has brought this up yet, but about
two weeks ago entertainment tonight (for those who don't know the show,
it's just a tv program about entertainment! :-) ).. Anyway, they talked
about this German documentary on UFO's that claimed to have the first
REAL pictures of US captured alien beings.. They showed these pictures on
the program, and I did video tape it btw.. Anyway they very well could be
frauds, and I honestly suspect they are. Although they did look real and
convincing, I doubt that anything will come of it..

   So what I am asking is this, has anyone else seen these pictures? Or
seen the documentary.. Better yet does anyone know if any quality
studies have been made to check for hoaxes or what have you? It would
be really fantastic if this thing is real, but as a skeptic (and a ufo/
paranormal buff, yes you CAN be both) I really doubt they're more than
the MJ-12 documents turned out to be..

I just reviewed the video tape of the program.. First off the name of
the documentary is, "Miracle of the Unknown".. They claim that this is
"Proof" for the existance of UFOs/alien visitors.. Also the photo's
are marked top secret (sound fimiliar? :-)).. Btw, they said that this
alien has been held at an airforce base since 1947.. Sounds like roswell
to me..

 I am sure people are going to want to know what it looked like, so I will
do my best to describe it..

Short, probably the typical 4 - 4 1/2 feet tall.
Silver Jump suit
Flesh tone white (not grey) skin
Large closed eyes (I think it was supposed to be dead)
Slit for a mouth
Normal looking ears (I didn't think the little grey guys had ears! ;-))
Small nose, but still larger than typically described by the ufo crowd.
I couldn't really see the hands, but the fingers apeared to be long..

 It was lying on a table and as I said, it looked quite dead.. Rather
sickly looking actually.. Which I suppose in some way may makes it
more convincing..

 At any rate I am sure that someone must know something about this thing
and hopefully we can either disprove it right away with absolutely no
doubt, or perhaps we will have ourselves some quality evidence..
