                      Plot Summaries

RoboCop (1987, 103 minutes, Orion Pictures)

He's RoboCop.  And in the near future, he's law
enforcement's only hope.
A sadistic crime wave is sweeping across America.  In
Old Detroit, the situation is so bad a private
corporation, Security Concepts, Inc. has assumed control
of the police force.
The executives at the company think they have the
answer - until the enforcement droid they create kills one
of their own.  Then an ambitious young executive seizes
the opportunity.  He and his research team create a law
enforcement cyborg from the body of a slain officer.  They
program RoboCop to: 1) Serve the public trust.  2) Uphold
the law.  3) Protect the innocent.
All goes well at first.  RoboCop stops every sleaze
ball he encounters with deadly, piercing, and sometimes
gruesome accuracy.  But there are forces on the street -
and within Security Concepts itself - that will stop at
nothing to see this super cyborg violently eliminated.
Prepare yourself for non-stop action and adventure in
one of the most explosive sci-fi stories you'll ever
witness: ROBOCOP

      RoboCop 2 (1990, 117 minutes, Orion Pictures)

The sizzling sequel to 1987's blockbuster brings back "The
Future of Law Enforcement," RoboCop, to face his greatest
challenge ever!  Peter Weller returns as the half man/half
machine police officer, this time to rid the lawless
streets of Detroit of the deadly new designer drug "Nuke."
Unknown to RoboCop, the evil corporate empire which
created him wants to take the city "private," and develop
RoboCop 2, a newer, bigger and more powerful version to
replace the original.

      RoboCop 3 (1993, 105 minutes, Orion Pictures)

Omni Consumer Products (OCP) the conglomerate that
designed RoboCop, now owns Detroit.  The company plans to
demolish one of the city's largest neighborhoods to build
a gleaming city of the future - after an army of ruthless
mercenaries finishes throwing everyone out of their homes.
But RoboCop (Robert John Burke), sworn to protect the
public, joins forces with a band of urban freedom fighters
battling to save their neighborhood.  After battling a
lethally efficient ninja android, and equipped with a new
arsenal of hi-tech weaponry, RoboCop and the courageous
residents take on OCP's private army.  It's all-out war,
an explosive street fight that could destroy either the
entire city or the evil powers behind the brutal corporate
raid.

                         Timeline

More than 10 years before RC:
The Old Man thinks up Delta City.

Not long before RC:
OCP enters into a contract with the Detroit city
government to fund and run the Detroit Metropolitan Police
Department.

Events chronicled in RC take place.

Between RC and RC2:
Ellen and Jimmy Murphy move back to Detroit.

RoboCop's body is rebuilt (because of the damage in
RC) this time in blue.

The plans for Delta City are forgotten and OCP gets
ready to rebuild Detroit.

Cocaine falls out of popularity in Detroit and "Nuke"
becomes the most addictive drug in history.

The cell that the RoboCop program uses for observation
is upgraded after RoboCop's initial success.

Five months before RC2:
OCP starts working on the RoboCop 2 project.

Events chronicled in RC2 take place.

Between RC2 and RC3:

RoboCop is rebuilt because of damage in RC2, this time
in the original silver.

Faxx is convicted as sole person responsible for the
RoboCop 2 disaster.

    The Old Man dies.

    New CEO is hired.

    Johnson is made vice president.

Dr. Marie Lazarus is hired as the scientist in charge
of the RoboCop program.

The RoboCop program's budget is increased.  So much so
that it is given a very large new observation room.  A
machine-gun/flamethrower hand replacement is built.  A
flight-pack is also constructed by funding is cut before
it can be tested.

Plans to rebuild all of Detroit are forgotten and OCP
again gets ready to build Delta City.

OCP is taken over by the Kanemitsu Corporation.

Events chronicled in RC3 take place.
