Well guys, I have gone thru the complete game and want to tell you, it really
kicks. But since I know that you guys want to know all there is about this

1. Cheat Codes
Here are all of the cheat codes that I know of as now. A new code has been
ADDED to the list. This is the code for walk through walls that was discovered
by Taurus. Yea, Taurus.
IDDQD - GOD MODE
IDKFA - VERY HAPPY AMMO ADDED
IDCLIP - NO CLIPPING MODE
IDMYPOS - YOUR POSITION
IDCHOPPERS - CHAIN SAW
IDCLEV## - GOTO LEVEL ##. 01-32!
WARNING: IDCLEV`ING TO LEVELS 33-39 WILL CRASH DOOM!
ON MAP:
IDDT - MAP TOGGLE, 3 MODES. AGAIN FOR NEXT MODE.
2. Monsters
After beating the game (Cheating of course) I found the names of all the
newbies and the oldies. Here is a list of them with a description of them.
Zombieman/Trooper - A dirty guy with a pistol
Shotgun Guy/Sergeant - A dirty guy with a regular shotgun
Heavy Weapon Dude - Fat guy with a chaingun
Imp - Little brown guy that throws fireballs
Demon - Big pink ugly monsters that bite you
Spectre - Like demons but partly invisible
Lost Soul - Flaming skulls that fly and bite you
Cacodemon - Flying red ball that launches gas balls out of its mouth
Hell Knight - Brownish troll looking monster that fires green plasma
Baron of Hell - Like Hell Knight but colorfull and stronger
Arachnotron - Small spider monster with a plasma gun
Pain Elemental - Like a Cacodemon but brown and releases Lost Souls
Revenant - Skeleton with missiles and punches you
Nancubus - Short ugly guy with flame ball launchers
Arch-Vile - A running monster the sets you on fire then launches you up
The Spider Mastermind - Big spider like creature with chaingun
Cyberdemon - REALLY big monster with a rocket launcher
Icon of Sin (Big Boss) - Big face on a wall that launches blocks that, when
they hit a wall, turn into monsters.

4. Secret Levels
There are two different secret levels. First, there is the secret level.
The entrance for this level is in level 15. Once in the secret level, there
is a secret exit off of that level to the Super Secret Level. (CHEATER!)
Here are instructions to get to Level 31, the secret level!
1. Goto Level 15
2. When you begin go down the lift to the left. Then run for the large
pit and jump in.
3. Look for a teleporter to the right side of the middle building. Go
in it.
4. You should be facing a BFG9000. Get it then fight the Baron that
comes out of the wall.
5. After the Baron is dead walk towards to where it came from. A Pain
Elemental will come out of the wall. Kill that too.
6. When the Pain Elemental is dead get the yellow keycard. Turn around,
fight some guys, then hit the button that came up from the floor.
This will raise steps. Go up them.
7. When up there kill the guys the get to the place where you are north
of a raised platform of the pit. This platform should have a radiation
suit, energy cell, and a button on it.
8. Jump on to it. It is easier to use the map because you can`t see it
from where you have to jump. Get the crap and hit the button. That
will open a door on the left wall in the pit. Go in there.
9. While in there walk around till you find an invunerability sphere
guarded by some Cacodemons. Kill the Cacodemons and take the sphere.
This will open a door in a hallway near where you get the blue keycard. Go
to the first teleporter you went in and go up the steps and jump towards
the castle like building. Go through the yellow locked door. Then you should
see some platforms with a texture going down the middle of the floor like
the one in the pit. Go straight.
10. In there you should find and open hallway with a funky flaming texture
on the walls. Go in there and follow it to a transporter. This is the
exit to the secret level. Go in!!!!!!
There are many interesting levels. One of the most interesting is 31.
This is where ID was making fun of Wolfensteine 3D. Note the huge walls.
If you know where the Secret level on Wolf is then you can go to the
Super Secret Level.

Ok, got to the end of the level. There should be a room like this.

Once you get to the super level there is a big surprise waiting at the end.
I will not tell though because that would ruin it for you.
5. Modem Play (In 20 steps)
When trying to play modem play I encountered some errors. Here is a step
by step process to make modem play work for you.
1. Do I have a modem?
Yes=Good! Goto 2!
No=Doh! Goto store!
2. Run setup.exe. Choose Run Serial/Modem/Network game. Choose select modem.
Now, choose that modem that most fits yours. If none choose GENERIC.
3. Test Run. Now choose modem game. Now select com port. Then select answer.
Then f10 or go! Now a screen should come up saying DooM Sersetup stuff.
It should use an init string to wake up your modem. It should say:
Modem Command:<INIT STRING>
Modem Response:<INIT STRING>
Modem Response:OK
Waiting For Ring
If this happens your modem is working right.
Work=Goto 4
No Work=Goto Better Store or Goto ID
4. Look at the part of the screen where is says your port address. This should
be something like 0X28F. Write that down. Now look for irq. Write that down.
5. Now, the reason you need to write that down is because if you want to run
DooM 2 with extendend options like -altdeath then you need to put these options
in that were automatically detected with setup.exe. Now you are going to call
your friend you want to play with. DO IT!
IS THERE=Goto 6

NOT THERE=Goto New Friend
6. IF YOU ARE NOT USING EXTENDEND OPTIONS JUST USE SETUP.EXE.
Tell him to make a batch file in his doom2 directory. Like this:
copy con doom2.bat
7. tell him to put in the batch file
sersetup (No enter) (Leave a space for next option and all other options)
8. Ask him what com port he is on, then do
-com #
9. Ask port address
-port #
10. Ask monsters?
NO=-nomonsters
YES=nothing
11. Ask Deathmatch or Coopertive?
DEATH=-deathmatch
COOPERATIVE=nothing
12. Ask Deathmatch 2.0?
YES=-altdeath
NO=nothing
13. Put either answer or call
CALL=-dial #
ANSWER=-answer
14. Pick a skill level 1-5
-skill #
(Numbers refer to I`m too young to die - Nightmare)
15. Press enter
16. Press f6 should make a ^Z
17. Press enter
18. Batch file made.
19. Person who is answering should run theirs now. Make sure it works then
tell the other person to call.
20. If it doesn`t work try switching dial/answer jobs.
6. Beating the Game
This is the part that will tell you how to beat the game. If you
do not want to find out then DON`T READ THIS PART!
1. Make your way to Level 30 or type IDCLEV30.
2. Get all the crap in the room you start in.
3. Go through the teleporter.
4. You will appear on a ledge. Go to the side and lower the lift by
pressing the wall with the face on it. Continue this till you get
to the top ledge.
5. Hit the switch on the wall in the inset. This will raise a platform
on the bottom level with a box of rockets on it.
6. Goto the bottom level and hit space on the newly raised platform to
lower it. Walk on, dodging all the monsters shots that have been made
by the boss.
7. While the lift goes up shoot rockets into the little hole that those
blocks come out of. Rockets and only rockets will work! This is beacuse
if you go through that face using IDCLIP then there will be a head on
a stake. This is what actually takes the damage, and, if you notice it
is lower than the hole. Rockets will only work because it can hurt it
a little even though it is lower from where the rocket hit.
8. Continue the rocket attacks until the face blows up, or, use IDCLIP
to go through the face on the wall and shoot the face with whatever
you want. This is fun because you can torture it with the pistol or
chainsaw.
9. Congratulations! You have beaten the game! Read the message you get
then press space to see where we got the monsters names!
7. Weapons And Objects
There really is only one new weapon, the super shotgun. This is really a
double barrel shotgun. It uses two shells per shot, hence the name double
barrel. It is very deadly. Even the regular shotgun is deadly, I have killed
my friend in modem play with one hit with it.
Megasphere - This little baby restores your health and your armor to
200% This is a very helpful item.
Super Shotgun - This is really just a double barrel shotgun that uses
2 ammo and has a larger explosion. With this weapon
you can kill about 6 guys at once if they are grouped
together.
8. Options
-ALTDEATH - Reffered two as deathmatch 2.0. Weapons and Ammo go away when
taken and come back in 30 seconds to 1 min. This is fun. Keeps the deathmatch
going, never run out of weapons! You know when a weapon comes back cause you
here it come and and can see a blue teleport thing.
-TURBO ### - You can run like speedy gonzales. Just pick a turbo number
from 1-250. Some of the lower one slow you down so don`t pick 1! heheheh you
will be a sitting duck, OR CHICKEN OR COW OR WHATEVER!
-LOADGAME - Allows you to start Doom 2 from a save game. Use numbers
0-5 instead of the name.
-DEATHMATCH - Starts Doom 2 as a Deathmatch game. You get to kill
you friend over the modem/network/serial as much times as you want. Each
player starts in a different spot. If you do not put in -DEATHMATCH a
coopertive game is run.
-SKILL - Sets the skill level you wish to play. 1-5 refers to
I`m too young to die - Nightmare.
-CONFIG - Allows you to use an alternate configuration file.
-NOMONSTERS - You start playing with no monsters at all! This only
works in Deathmatch mode so you can`t super cheat past all the levels.
-RESPAWN - Starts with all monsters then about 8 seconds after they die
their dead bodies teleport out and they teleport back in! DO NOT USE
-NOMONSTERS AND -RESPAWN AT THE SAME TIME! THIS IS NOT GOOD!
-FAST - Makes the monsters fast like in Nightmare mode.
-MAXDEMO - Determines the maximum size of a recorded demo. This is so
you can make your demos longer.
-NODES - Starts DOOM2 as a network game and sets the number of
players who are going to play. If you don`t specify the number
of nodes, the default is 2.
-PORT (Network) - Sets the port from which to play DOOM2 multiplayer on
the network. By setting a different port, more than one
group of players can play DOOM2 on a single network.
-DIAL - Tells the program which number to dial, if you`re going
to do the calling.
-ANSWER - Puts your modem into Answer mode so someone can call
you and play DOOM2.
-COM1, -COM2, -COM3, -COM4 - Specifies which COM port your modem
or serial cable is connected to. Very important!
-8250 - Tells SERSETUP to set the UART to 8250. Just in case your
16550 UART is acting up at the higher speed.
-IRQ - Sets the IRQ for the COM port.
-PORT (Modem) - Sets the COM I/O port that SERSETUP uses to communicate
with your modem. To use hexadecimal, such as the number 0x3f8,
you would type "-port 0x3f8".
-<#> - Sets the baud rate of your COM port, overriding the value in
the MODEM.CFG if you`re running a modem game. Legal values are
9600, 14400, 38400, 57600.
-NOJOY - Isn`t what it sounds like. It just disables your joystick.
-NOMOUSE - Disables your mouse.
-NOSOUND - Turns off the sound while DOOM II is playing.
-NOMUSIC - Turns off the music while DOOM II is playing.
-NOSFX - Turns off special effects sounds (like monsters growling,
guns firing, etc.) while DOOM II is playing.
-PLAYDEMO - Runs a demo you`ve previously recorded, using -RECORD.
-RECORD - Tells DOOM II to record as a demo the game you are
starting. Demo files will be saved as <filename>.lmp.
@<filename> - Will allow you to specify a Response file that DOOM
II will read additional command-line parameters from. For example,
typing `DOOM2 @MYPARMS` will tell DOOM II to look in the MYPARMS
file for additional command-line parameters. The file format is
simply one parameter per line with a carriage return to terminate the
line. Each parameter is typed exactly as you would type it on the DOS
command-line
-TIMER <# of minutes> - Will make DOOM II exit the current level
after the specified amount of minutes, when it goes to the
intermission. This option is only useful in DeathMatch mode.
-WARP <# of level> starts DOOM II out right at the level you
specify. For instance, to start at the first level, you`d type "-warp 1".
The following command-line parameters are ONLY available while
using the -WARP parameter: -fast, -nomonsters, -skill, -respawn.

the network. By setting a different port, more than one
group of players can play DOOM2 on a single network.
-DIAL - Tells the program which number to dial, if you`re going
to do the calling.
-ANSWER - Puts your modem into Answer mode so someone can call
you and play DOOM2.
-COM1, -COM2, -COM3, -COM4 - Specifies which COM port your modem
or serial cable is connected to. Very important!
-8250 - Tells SERSETUP to set the UART to 8250. Just in case your
16550 UART is acting up at the higher speed.
-IRQ - Sets the IRQ for the COM port.
-PORT (Modem) - Sets the COM I/O port that SERSETUP uses to communicate
with your modem. To use hexadecimal, such as the number 0x3f8,
you would type "-port 0x3f8".
-<#> - Sets the baud rate of your COM port, overriding the value in
the MODEM.CFG if you`re running a modem game. Legal values are
9600, 14400, 38400, 57600.
-NOJOY - Isn`t what it sounds like. It just disables your joystick.
-NOMOUSE - Disables your mouse.
-NOSOUND - Turns off the sound while DOOM II is playing.
-NOMUSIC - Turns off the music while DOOM II is playing.
-NOSFX - Turns off special effects sounds (like monsters growling,
guns firing, etc.) while DOOM II is playing.
-PLAYDEMO - Runs a demo you`ve previously recorded, using -RECORD.
-RECORD - Tells DOOM II to record as a demo the game you are
starting. Demo files will be saved as <filename>.lmp.
@<filename> - Will allow you to specify a Response file that DOOM
II will read additional command-line parameters from. For example,
typing `DOOM2 @MYPARMS` will tell DOOM II to look in the MYPARMS
file for additional command-line parameters. The file format is
simply one parameter per line with a carriage return to terminate the
line. Each parameter is typed exactly as you would type it on the DOS
command-line
-TIMER <# of minutes> - Will make DOOM II exit the current level
after the specified amount of minutes, when it goes to the
intermission. This option is only useful in DeathMatch mode.
-WARP <# of level> starts DOOM II out right at the level you
specify. For instance, to start at the first level, you`d type "-warp 1".
The following command-line parameters are ONLY available while
using the -WARP parameter: -fast, -nomonsters, -skill, -respawn.
