                    PERSTOR PS180-8XT CONTROLLER

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Model PS180-8XT Controller is part of Perstor's Advanced Data
Recording Technology ADRT product lines.  This disk controller is
intended  for use in any 8 bit expansion  slot of most  computers
with  processor speeds up to 20 mHz.   The PS180-8XT improves I/O
performance and increases ST506/412 Winchester hard disk capacity
by 90%.

The  PS180-8XT  is  intended for use with the  IBM  PC,  XT,  and
compatible  computers   and is    compatible with MS-DOS and  PC-
DOS.    It  operates  at 9 megabits per second and  allocates  31
sectors per track to the drive.   The PS180-8XT supports two hard
disks  of different drive configurations and form  factors   with
either MFM   RLL  circuitry, and oxide or plated media.

OTHER FEATURES

- Variable interleave capability
- Support of drives with up to 15 heads and 1024 cylinders
- On-board drive light connector
- RLL 2,7 technology
- 2.2 to 5.5 megabit per second data write operation
- 56 bit error checking and correction
- Multiple sector operations across track and cylinder boundaries
- DMA transfer capability
