EFFORT DURING THE YEAR. THANKS TO PAT VK2JPA, OUR BROADCAST
OFFICER AND SECRETARY, FOR COLLECTING, AND COLLATING THE
BROADCAST EACH WEEK, PAT ALSO TRANSMITS THE CAST ON 146.675

ANARTS WORLD WIDE RTTY CONTEST WAS A GREAT SUCCESS THIS
YEAR, JIM HAD A BUSY TIME COLLATING THE RESULTS. IT IS
PLEASING TO SEE THE SINGLE AND MULTI OPERATOR MODES WERE WON
BY AUSTRALIAN STATIONS. THERE WAS AN INCREASE OF 62 PERCENT OF
LOGS RECEIVED OVER THE 1992 CONTEST. HOWEVER THERE WERE ONLY 6
LOGS RECEIVED FROM VK STATIONS AND 12 KNOWN VK STATIONS WHO
EXCHANGED QSO DETAILS DURING THE CONTEST. SOME LOGS FROM
OVERSEAS COMMENTED ON THIS, SO NEXT YEAR, PLEASE, COULD MORE
VK'S TAKE PART, OR, IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ENTER A LOG, EXCHANGE
DETAILS WITH A FEW OVERSEAS STATIONS. BY THE WAY OUR NEW BEAUT
WINNERS PLAQUES HAVE BEEN RECEIVED FROM THE MANUFACTURERS AND
HAVE BEEN POSTED TO THE WINNERS. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL.

You will be glad to know that Alan VK2DPM has fully recovered
from the illness he suffered last weekend. It was a
complication from the infected throat epidemic currently
sweeping Sydney. Alan will be doing the AMTOR FEC cast, so
listen in on 14070 MHz +/- QRM, and exchange Seasons
Greetings.

ANARTS broadcast schedules for the holiday season
The broadcast will resume on 9th January 1994 with, we hope,
vastly refreshed relay officers - also your broadcast officer
will enjoy the break. We will see you again then and hope that
we receive lots of information about club activities in your
state. Of course the first event to be publicised will be the
Gosford/Wyong Field Day in February, and that information will
be in from the first cast with reminders closer to the event.

Solar activity was very low throughout the period.
The geomagnetic field at Learmonth (WA) was quiet on 12th-14th
December, quiet to unsettled 10th-11th and 15th, and active on
16th.
Ionospheric F2 critical frequencies at Sydney on 3rd were near
predicted monthly values on 10th-12th and 14th-15th, and
depressed by up to 15 per cent on 13th and 16th.
Forecast for the next week (17 - 23 December)
Solar : Very low.
Geomagnetic: Active to unsettled 17 December, unsettled 18
December, quiet 19-23 December.
Ionospheric: Depressed 15-30 per cent 17 December, near normal
18-23 December.
